Very Latest Covid-19 Test Results: Rest Of Tottenham Squad In The Clear

By Joe Fish -

The Premier League have confirmed that there have been no new positive results come back from the very latest round of Covid-19 testing.

A Tottenham player, although The Guardian understands not a “key first-team player”, was the one positive case returned from 1,197 tests carried out earlier this week, so thankfully he has not spread the virus further around the camp.

Spurs confirmed the anonymous player in question was not showing any symptoms of the virus but would self-isolate for the required seven days, as Sky Sports details.

Jose Mourinho staged an 11 vs. 11 practice match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday, with Giovani Lo Celso, Davinson Sanchez, Paulo Gazzaniga, Japhet Tanganga and Alfie Whiteman among the absentees.

Tottenham’s positive case was the only one in the last three rounds of Premier League testing, which is a big boost to the hopes of a safe return on June 17th. We resume our season two days later against Manchester United.
