Report: Johan Lange indentifies €60M rated Son Heung-min replacement

One huge deficiency over the last two seasons has been the Tottenham front line. Richarlison was our top scorer last term, but what did this actually mean? The Brazilian scored a mere 12 goals in all competitions. Which is better than nothing, but frankly, pretty hopeless. Solanke has amassed just 6, which is explained by injury, but in value-for-money terms, neither has done a great job.

Abde Ezzalzouli to Spurs was mentioned by Yahoo! back in February, and now the 24-year-old Moroccan winger at Real Betis is a major transfer target ahead of the 2026 summer window due to his breakout 2025–26 season (around 10 La Liga goals + strong assists), amid interest from Newcastle United, according to The Boy Hotspur Substack.

Until 2029 with Betis, Abde comes with a reported at €60 million transfer fee (around £51-52m), due to his rising status. NUFCblog said that they felt that the €25-50m range was more realistic, with Betis needing sales for financial compliance, and so the club might be open to offers.

Tottenham have shown concrete interest, including making contact/enquiries with Betis. The Yahoo! report mentioned Spurs preparing a €32 million bid. Abde fits Spurs’ need for pace, directness, and goal threat on the left wing – and would be a standout candidate to replace Heung Min Son.

Abde is expected to leave Betis this summer amid strong Premier League interest. Newcastle appear most advanced, but Tottenham are actively competing. A fee in the €35-60 million range seems realistic, depending on whether the release clause is triggered. His versatility (both flanks), goal/assist output, and age make him an attractive “project” or immediate contributor in the Premier League. Spurs desperately need to buy quality up front, and even if it is late, replace the South Korean.

Blessed with explosive pace and acceleration, excellent 1v1 dribbling, progressive carries into the box, cutting inside onto his stronger right foot, key passes, shooting threat, and a much-appreciated defensive work rate. He wins aerial duels well for his size and gets fouled often.

Sound like anyone we once knew?
