Tottenham prepared to offload at least two players to fund new signing

By Bruce Grove -

Lille defender Zeki Celik is a target for Tottenham in this transfer window and the Lilywhites are prepared to sell one of two players to fund a move for him, according to the Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho has managed to lead his current set of players to end this season in a European place, but he will want even more quality in his ranks when next season begins.

He needs to buy, but limited funds mean that he might have to sell before he can add, and the Telegraph has identified two players that he will be willing to offload.

The report claims that the Portuguese manager is happy to get rid of Serge Aurier and Juan Foyth this summer to make room and funds available for Celik.

Aurier has been Spurs’ first-choice right-back under Mourinho this season, but the Ivorian is error-prone and doesn’t seem to be one that can be trusted for the long-term.

Foyth, on the other hand, has struggled to break into the Tottenham first team under Mourinho and the best bet for him might be to leave the club to where he will get more first-team chances.

Zelik is 23, and he made 23 league appearances for Lille this season, scoring no goals and providing 3 assists.
