Tottenham may have identified long term Serge Aurier replacement

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham have identified Barcelona loanee, Emerson, as a potential replacement for Serge Aurier.

The Brazilian joined the Catalans last summer before being sent out on loan to Real Betis in the Spanish top flight.

He has been in fine form for his loan team this season and has attracted the attention of several top European sides as the transfer window reopens.

The defender is co-owned by Barcelona and Betis and he is expected to spend another season on-loan at the La Liga side, however, Barca might buy their rights and sell him.

Jose Mourinho has had to rely on Serge Aurier for some time now as his only recognisable right back, but Diario de Sevilla is claiming that Spurs want Emerson.

Aurier is error-prone and he is one player that the club will not hesitate to replace as they look to become a top team again.

Emerson played all but five of Betis’ La Liga games this season and he chipped in with 3 goals and 6 assists.

Aurier, on the other hand, scored one goal and provided 5 assists in the same number of league games for Spurs.

While Aurier is already 27, Emerson is just 21 and the Lilywhites might want to sell the Ivorian now and make a move for the Brazilian who will have his best years ahead of him.

Sounds good but I think Aurier will be here next season.

Hojbjerg does not score many goals so he won’t fill that gap.

I’m sure I saw Sissoko score once or maybe it was the after effects of marching powder (me not Sissy)

The bit that says co-owned never usually ends well. I would be happy to see Serge move on I always expect gifts to the opposition when either him or Foyth play.

Firstly, I just hope that we do a real strong medical on our New player from Southampton. For, we have bought so many players recent players who have not been fit enough and hence not good enough for playing in the Premier League.
What Spurs need is a midfield player who can shoot from outside the penalty area and can score goals. Sadly, Winks can’t do this and certainly not Sisoko.
