Levy Happy To Spend Big This Summer On This One Player Only Says Report

By Joe Fish -

Daniel Levy would apparently be willing to loosen Tottenham’s pursestrings this summer if Wolves striker Raul Jimenez became available.

Jose Mourinho is expected to be limited to free transfers, loans and any funds generated from player sales in his attempts to balance out a squad which is in need of investment and freshness across most of the pitch.

However, Football Insider understands that Levy would be willing to make an exception to that policy to bring Jimenez to Spurs. Mourinho is said to be a big admirer of the 29-year-old striker who is reportedly on the lookout for the last big move of his career and the pay day that comes with it.

As BBC Sport details, Wolves only signed Jimenez last summer, for £30m on a four-year-deal. Because of his age, they cannot feasibly add a huge premimum on that figure, but you would expect the Midlands club would want their money back and more if the Mexican tried to force a move.

Signing Jimenez would be a difference maker; finally a striker nearly every bit as good a Harry Kane to take the burden off the England skipper.

But I just can’t see it happening myself. Levy rarely makes exceptions.

Full backs needed on both sides too.. I hope our new boys come good but I’m dubious about them all apart from lo celso. Age is a weird one and is irrelevant to me really. Kane was rather late developing. Ever since his rise we have overplayed him. The likes of rooney and owen were at their best in their teens. Some can be teenager world beaters. I would play a 16 year old in any position if hes good enough. Same as a 36 yr old.. We need strengthening but as a luxury I would love coutinho in as a marquee signing. He would feed kane all day. Amazing free kick taker, great playmaker. Creative. Gives maureen options and players like dele would have to fight for a start.

Parrot is very young and not yet ready, but he will start to develop. Kane was 23 when he started to deliver. Remember Kane has not been a major factor since World Cup- between injuries and being off form – mostly from playing Captain England. At the moment he is fit – as is Son, Moura, Lamela, Sessegnon & Dele. Further we have strengthened our offensive lineup-Bergwijn, LoCelso, Ndombele. If we need a striker – Go big for Osimhen. I’d like to see us get Ake to solid up the rear guard.

you are another braindead tyee cult member. Totally dependent on government dollars. And you would be the first to call the cops when someone was snooping around your back yard. You have been programmed by the media, grow a brain and learn to think for yourself. The tyee is a traitorous rag run by amerikkkans whose manifesto is to destroy Canada and morons like you are complicit.

I’d love this to happen. He’s exactly the striker we need. I only worry that his age will put levy off. His value will only go down now but he could be great for 3 seasons.

Why don’t we do our own scouting for a change. Loads of good players out there, we don’t seem to spot very many though. I’ll say it again Eberechi Eze, before he has another stellar season and we’re out bid.

How big is big? If he’s worth £40m is that really big? In terms of quality he fits the bill, and it is quality we need to get back in the mix. I don’t care about resale. I want goals and results. If we are getting one big transfer though I’d look at the other end of the field to reinforce. Of course we need another striker, but that is along with 4 other key positions.

If we can get him for under £35mil we’ve done well. Kane won’t be getting as many games if he bowls in. What a difference to the squad he’d make.

We have troy parrot and whoever else young.. I think we need a quality competent and complete striker who can compliment kane and partner him if tactics call for it.. Also to replace kane so we can rest him… If we are serious about winning any titles then we need strength in depth. One senior striker isn’t enough.

As long as he doesn’t cost more than we can get for Foyth. 🙂

That is ridiculous. Why would he be willing to bring in an over-priced, over-paid, almost over the hill player with virtually no potential resale value. we need to go for a young striker that Kane can mentor. Go Big for Osimhen.
