After Spurs defeated Burnley 1-0 in the Carabao Cup last night they took to Twitter with a list of four names as the Man of the Match and one name stood out for its inclusion.
For some reason, in their wisdom, they included Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg alongside Lucas Moura, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez.
The inclusion of the Dane was met with derision by some and rightfully so.
Hojbjerg did not have the worst game but he was absolutely nowhere near being the man of the match and while most just got on with tweeting who they thought was the best player on the night, a good number of fans questioned the inclusion of the 26-year-old.
Romero got the most votes followed by Moura with Hojbjerg bottom, albeit just behind Sanchez. It was also noticeable that Emerson Royal was not included in the list further ridiculing the four-man list.
Anyway, here is the Tweet followed by a sample of some of the responses question Hojbjerg’s inclusion.
No Emerson on the list and Hojbjerg is there?!! 😂 clueless. It was very close between Romero and Emerson.

Why is Hojbjerg on this list? That was literally the single worst performance he's ever put on in a Spurs shirt.

Errm it was Emerson? Why is Hojbjerg an option?

Imagine Hojbjerg there over Royal 😂

Hojbjerg was awful. How he stayed on the pitch instead of Skipp was an unbelievable decision by Nu No Clue

A drab and dull affair. The game didn’t begin until the 65th minute… Romero and Emerson were good at the back. Royal was crossing in some teasing balls.. We woke up 65th minute (after the early subs so well done NES) and started to go at them… Lucas Moura may mess up some balls passing and shooting but the man is immense. He can dribble past 5 or 6 players, he is always trying to make something happen. Attacking and defending he sets the pace. Like a drum that won’t stop. While our defence and midfield pass safe, sideways and backwards, Lucas is the one who takes the risks. And like scholes when he gets the ball he’s only going forward, direct towards goal… He should have slid kane through early.. But his header goal was lovely and much deserved… For a little guy whos character is so calm and quiet, he plays with so much aggression. He was key to us winning again. All hail Lucas.
I watched the Burnley live commentary on game. Grey haired chap who knew what he was talking about. Lack of crazy, biased emotion He had Romano, Royal, Lo Celso and Hojbjerg as Spurs best players. Thought Skipp should have had a red card.
He has a YouTube channel now.
The Boy Hotspur is mostly clickbait ‘articles’ these days. Used to be much better. Pity. I miss it.
I really enjoy these posts where you trawl Twitter to find random people slagging off Tottenham players. Keep up the good work.
