Arsenal eyes Tottenham transfer target as Everton listens to offers for its striker

By Eddie Razo -

This summer, there will be two areas on the squad Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to improve as they find a creative midfielder or winger and striker to help lessen the load on the shoulders of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

One target that Spurs are linked to is Real Madrid right-winger Marco Asensio, but it seems as though their north London rival might be plotting to land the 26-year-old, who has one more year left on his contract after this year.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal is leading the race to sign Asensio, who, along with Spurs, is linked to AC Milan. Milan initially appeared to be in the best position to sign the 26-year-old, but his wage demands have cooled their interest.

Meanwhile, The Gunners are now poised to spring for Asensio, who will be officially put up for transfer when the summer window opens. Nonetheless, finding a winger or midfielder that can create won’t be the only need in the attack.

The north London club wants to find another striker that allows manager Antonio Conte to replicate what he had at Inter Milan with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez. The Italian tactician has Kane and has recently been linked to Everton forward Richarlison, and it appears the Premier League rival is ready to sell.

Football Insider reports that The Toffees are expected to make major changes to their squad that’s currently trying to fight off relegation. Nonetheless, whether they head to the Championship or remain in the Premier League, Richarlison appears to be on the way out.

There is no further information regarding what type of asking price they’ll want for the 24-year-old, who has two more years left on his contract after this season. However, Everton did pay £50-million for the Brazilian in 2018, so they might be hoping to recoup their initial investment.
