World class player could move to Tottenham this summer – Lucas Moura should be very worried

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is in a period of transition and Jose Mourinho will be determined to get them in the position that they can start competing for titles very soon.

For them to become title challengers, the Lilywhites would have to sign some of the best players around and one player that can turn them back into a top side is former Tottenham great, Gareth Bale.

The Welshman was on the books of Spurs and arguably their most important player before he sealed a mega-money move to Real Madrid in 2013.

He has won numerous trophies with the Spanish side, but it appears that his time in Spain is coming to an end.

He has been out of favour with Real Madrid’s current manager, Zinedine Zidane, and the Frenchman might cash in on him when the transfer window opens up.

He would return to Spurs as a different player and unlikely to be playing in the same position as he did when he departed White Hart Lane and his change in position could put Lucas Moura at risk, reckons Tom Victor of Football.London.

According to Victor, Moura has struggled to prove to Mourinho that he can be a key member of the team, and the Portuguese manager hasn’t seen enough productivity in terms of goals and assists from the former PSG man.

Victor further opines that should Bale return, he would expect to be an automatic pick and that could spell the end for Moura’s inconsistent time at Spurs.

That does seem to be a bold prediction from Victor but it does have merit but whether Bale would return to Tottenham must surely be questionable.

He would improve us no doubt.. Can’t see him wanting to come back.. Nor scrooge paying him.. United, city and chinese teams would be in for him too.

4 champions leagues in 5 years.. What more could they ask for. The biggest comp and he’s been essential.. Also La liga and copa del rays.. He’s won far more than spurs ever.. When liverpool had Madrid by the balls he came on that second half and tore them apart. Match winner and he always performs in the big ones. Bale just oozes class.

The real fans are a bit harsh on him. He’s won them a lot there yet they still cuss him. I don’t blame him. Wales spurs golf🌚

We could give him all the match day takings after every home game. Still gotta find Haringey councils £100k a day. If he wins us games its not a problem. He would. Amazing player. For James below.

Yep, it’s embarrassing like the pictures of him flat out with a newspaper over his face. He comes with way too much baggage.

This story gets dusted off every summer like a cheap Hawaiian shirt. Seems like a good idea until you realise it no longer goes with the rest of the outfit.

I doubt a deal could be done, even though that miserable frenchman wants Bale out of the club, but I would never turn down the chance no matter how slim, for Gareth to come back in a Spurs shirt again. Not that he requires any motivation but I could see Mourinho working well with him .

Bales is on £600,000 a week. What club in the world is going to pay that. He’ll likely see out the contract unless he’s bought out or Real Madrid subsidised his wages at another club. The video of Bale during the Real Madrid celebrations after winning La Liga is just appalling. It just shows a player who has no connection with his team mates, manager or club. A club which pays him a gigantic weekly salary and he looked as if he wanted to be somewhere, anywhere but celebrating with his team mates. There was no joy, no sense of fun or achievement. It was all very sad, maybe he’s fallen out of love with football or just Real Madrid.
We can’t afford him and watching that performance I don’t want him.

“In 2016, Bale signed a contract extension with Real Madrid through June 2022 that is worth up to $33 million in salary and bonus annually”

Time to wager big on a Bale return / Mourinho trophy double.

Bale or Moura? Not a hard choice. Bale is world class, Moura isn’t.
