This could have been Giovani Lo Celso’s moment.
Jose Mourinho certainly thought it was.

Arriving at the far post to meet a wonderful Serge Aurier cross, the Argentine, still in desperate need of something substantial to mark his arrival from last summer, was only a few yards out when he somehow knocked the ball back across goal, but wide.
Most of the crowd went up, and Mourinho was also fooled by his angle of this guilt-edged chance as he started to celebrate, only to have to improvise halfway through, falling to his knees in disbelief.

It is one of those “he connected too well” chances. A less clean slice, a knee, a face even, may have diverted it past Alisson and snatched us a draw.
Roberto Firmino’s first-half goal secured Liverpool a 1-0 win.
I agree the lad needs a run of games, give him the chance now he’s here… But he should have scored that all day long it was a perfect cross at a lovely angle, he spooned it.. Pressure.. It was on a plate only a handful of yards out. He did the tough part timing the run, all he had to do was hit the target.
I think too much of the reaction has been based on the fact that we needed a goal. Look carefully and you will see that in fact Lo Celso did extremely well to control that ball and shoot on a tight angle. There are goals in him if he is played regularly to develop a rapport instead of Eriksen or Dier.
Well maybe if he started him in more games he would be sharper.
