Jose Mourinho would reportedly be prepared to let Lucas Moura leave Tottenham this summer in order to bring in Arkadiusz Milik.
Moura has started more games for Spurs under Mourinho than any other player – apart from Serge Aurier – and the the two have been open about their fondness for each other since linking up in North London.
However, The Express understands that Mourinho would be willing to sacrifice the Brazilian winger in a swap deal for Napoli’s Milik.
The Polish international forward is expected to leave Napoli this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract and he has been linked to us as we continue to seek established competition and cover for Harry Kane.
Moura has often been the player shoehorned into the centre forward position to stand in for Kane but the squad needs another natural No.9.
Steven Bergwijn’s addition to our wide options means that the squad would be better balanced with one fewer winger and another recognised forward.
Mourinho acknowledging this by allowing one of his favourites to leave would be the ultimate sign of ruthlessness that it takes to be a top manager.
