Report – Tanguy Ndombele can be sold but only on one condition

One player whose future at Spurs is as unclear as to when a covid19 vaccine will be made available to all is Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman only joined Spurs last summer as the club looked to add some physicality to their midfield.

His introduction to English football was a harsh one for him and he failed to inspire his teammates to better performances.

Spurs were looking to build on their reaching the final of the 2019 Champions League, but their season started woefully, cost Mauricio Pochettino his job, and they needed a new manager to help them finish in a European spot.

Ndombele was expected to help the club become better, but he hasn’t done that and he has now been linked with a move away.

Inter Milan has maintained a strong interest in signing him this summer, but the Italians are looking for a favourable deal and they have proposed a swap deal, but Spurs aren’t interested in swapping Ndombele.

La Repubblica claims that the Lilywhites might be open to selling the former Lyon man this summer, but any deal that will take him away from the Tottenham Stadium will involve only cash and they want as close a fee to the £63m that they paid to sign him as possible.

So, if this report is true then Daniel Levy will sanction the sale of Ndombele but only if he gets back the money he laid out for the Frenchman.

Have you read my post properly? I did not say that it had not been attributed to anyone, but to several sources which were all probably wrong. It is rather like the quote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. Attributed to Edmund Burke but there is no proof that he originated the saying”. Sorry to be pedantic, but I love your name , Urbane Sturgeon. Very original and probably attributable to your good self.

So sick and tired of you “bloggers” trying to push Ndombele out the club.
You are constantly going on about this topic.
What has he done to you?
His complexion and nationality bother you?
Have you ever considered that the player moved to a different country with a different culture and language? Also he arrived at 21 years old.
I wonder how you’d prosper under these circumstances.
Like Poch said it will take time for him to settle in and be ready.
Yet you idiots don’t take any of this into consideration. Sit in your armchairs and pass judgment on people and even worse their character. You don’t even know him yet previously have said some very unsavory things about him.
This guy given time has the potential to be one of the best players in the league if not the world.
Do take a good hard look in the mirror before you pass judgment.

The asking price was £75m euros,Levy started haggling over the price and was told if he carried on the price would be £80m euros. He eventually got the price down to £53.8m with another £10m in add on’s if Spurs qualified for The CL .

Not sure I get how if it hasn’t been attributed to anyone, it can be claimed with certainty not to be Disraeli. Anyway, here’s one of my favourites:

“A member of Parliament to Disraeli: ‘Sir, you will either die on the gallows or of some unspeakable disease.’

That depends, Sir,’ said Disraeli, ‘whether I embrace your policies or your mistress.”

I’m not convinced Levy paid 53 myself. I bloody hope he didn’t.

Good guess, but wrong. It has been attributed to him , Benjamin Disraeli and Walter Bagehot amongst others. The probable source is Sir Charles Dilke but that is probably a myth as well. It’s one of those quotes that nobody really knows who said it originally, rather like saying “the master negotiator Daniel Levy”.

N’Dombele cost £53.8m ,not £63m,it’s bad enough without making it any worse.

Is that a rhetorical question? £40 mill for a twenty three old of that potential is cheap. Utd have learnt from their past mistakes of buying Galacticos with massive wages and no sell on potential. Give Solskjaer credit for changing their recruitment strategy. Bale won’t be going there.

We’ve already improved the squad a bit, get in another defender, a backup forward, we’re probably done – if Aurier and Ndombele stay.

It’s only the attitudes that are a worry with those two, I’m sure they could get their form back. If both played to their potential…great squad. Big ‘if’ though.
