Tottenham’s plans to add more players to their team is being held up by their long-running quest to get rid of Serge Aurier, reports Standard Sports.
The right-back has been made available for transfers after Spurs signed Matt Doherty from Wolves.
The Ivorian who has never really been trusted by the fans or the managers is also open to leaving.
AC Milan has been his admirers for some time and Bayer Leverkusen has been added into the mix.
However, both clubs are being forced to reconsider their pursuit by Spurs’ asking price, reports the Standard.
The Lilywhites paid £23million to sign him from PSG three years ago, and although he has two years left on his current deal, they still want to make as much money from his sale as possible.
Their insistence on making a decent amount of money from his sale is holding up their plans and they may have to reconsider their stance now.
Spurs need to sign a new striker and probably a centre back. It will be dangerous for them to enter the new season without these players because they will be playing a lot of matches.
From all indications, they will have to bite the bullet and accept a lower transfer fee for Aurier.
If we are not buying another RB after Doherty then he is a better back up than any other alternative. I had hoped we would sell him to bring in Castagne but he has signed for Leicester.
I agree. Surely Maureen can teach him how to refrain from diving in and just use his pace and strength like Walkies did (eventually).
Probably not helped by Mourinho basically calling him a penalty waiting to happen in the doco!
Get them up to £15m get them to sign a contract then chop their hands off.
Honestly not the worst backup right back – if his attitude is ok
I know what it is, its because we are saving the 600k per week for Bale…yes, thats it..
Levy wants 20m odd, they (Milan) are offering 12m odd, Chelsea just spent another 80m on a striker…..just sell him ffs…
Like anyone’s going to buy this waste of space. Levy couldn’t pay someone to take him off our hands.
