Perfect opportunity for Jose Mourinho to get revenge on Frank Lampard

By Bruce Grove -

Jose Mourinho played Chelsea twice last season and he lost both games to his former protégé, Frank Lampard.

The Portuguese manager has now been handed the chance to get revenge on the team that he had two spells with as a manager.

This is because Spurs have been drawn to face Chelsea or Barnsley in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Spurs will play Leyton Orient next week and if they manage to beat them, as they should, they will set up the date with the Blues who should beat Barnsley.

Spurs have just beaten Lokomotiv Plovdiv away in the Europa League to advance to the next qualifying round.

The Lilywhites want to win a trophy this season and Mourinho has been hired primarily to end the club’s trophy drought.

They have strengthened their team in this transfer window. More players are expected to join in, but more importantly, they are expected to take all competitions seriously, including the Carabao Cup.

Tottenham will be Orient’s toughest opponents in the competition so far as they have only seen off Forest Green and Plymouth to reach this stage.

Chelsea started their league campaign with a win over Brighton at the Amex. Spurs will hope to get a first league win this weekend.

Of course, Tottenham will face Chelsea in the Premier League twice this season but knocking them out of a cup competition will taste a lot sweeter.

It’d be so small you wouldn’t be able to see it without binoculars anyway.

This was posted on SC

No, we already have a giant c*ck on top of the stadium. One at either end would be a bit much.

Then there’s going to have to be a seismic improvement in the team to beat the likes of Chelsea. I honestly hoped there’d be a reaction visible last night after the Bale/Reg news but I really didn’t see it.
