Tottenham faces a tough battle to keep hold of Tanguy Ndombele as the Frenchman continues to be linked with a move away from North London.
He only joined Spurs last summer, but his first season with them hasn’t gone to plan after he fell out with Jose Mourinho.
The Frenchman was overlooked for much of the Premier League restart, and that might be an indication that he doesn’t figure in Mourinho’s plans.
FootMercato claims that Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all want the former Lyon man and that the last two sides have already promised him guaranteed playing time.
The midfielder has struggled for game time since Mourinho became the club’s manager and as he looks to be a member of the French team for Euro 2021, he will want to play more football next season.
Spurs have made it clear that he is not for sale, but it will be hard for them to keep a player that wants to leave.
The club will hope that when he returns for pre-season ahead of next season, he will apply himself enough to figure in Mourinho’s plans.
The Lilywhites, meanwhile, are chasing a move for Southampton’s Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and his arrival will bring more competition for a place in the midfield.
as our old mate ‘arry the lip used to say
“nailed on……imminent…………it’s difficult”
IF he wants out , drive him to the station, let Levy get his money back and then target a player that’s worth the same money.
Yep, I’d agree with that. I wouldn’t worry about where the transfer funds go – as we famously run a zero net spend, at least the funds received get made available to spend!
I wouldn’t say we face a battle to hold onto him.If the offer is acceptable I think he will be out of the door in double quick time.Hopefully the money received will go straight into the transfer kitty and not Levy’s pocket.
To avoid reading this endlessly all through the next season I really think it would be best for everybody if he did move on. We all know what happens if Jose and a player fall out, and we need every player in our squad to be available all the time. I’m not saying it’s N’Dombele’s fault because I don’t know the facts, but it’s obvious it’s not working for whatever reason. As for Hojbjerg I expect us to be “on the verge” of signing him for the next 3 months!
