Careful Serge My Son, New Lockdown Breaches Could Result In Points Deductions

By Joe Fish -

The Premier League hope that strict new penalties will deter its stars from breaking lockdown restrictions any further, according to The Sun via a report in the Daily Mail.

Tottenham have been among the worse culprits for ignoring the government guidelines on social distancing. Jose Mourinho and several players trained together on a Barnet park. Speaking of barnets, Serge Aurier was daft enough to boast on social media about having a barber round to cut his hair.

Top-flight bosses are desperate to avoid any repeats that could threaten the goodwill behind Project Restart, and so The Sun reports that they are preparing to bring in emergency powers to allow them to fine offenders up to £200,000.

Frequent offenders such as our Serge, who has had three warnings from Spurs for lockdown breaches, as The Guardian details, apparently risk their clubs facing points deductions. As if he hasn’t cost us enough points already this season.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Save points.
