Will Daniel Levy crack and agree to high profile transfer swap deal?

By Bruce Grove -

One of the biggest transfer sagas this summer will undoubtedly involve Tanguy Ndombele and whether he will stay or depart Tottenham.

As things stand right now Ndomebele is staying at the Tottenham stadium (The Sun), that is apparently the determination of Daniel Levy and he does tend to get his own way.

However, money is in short supply and with the acquisition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to be completed any day now and other likely signings on the horizon, sales or swap deals will have to be made.

One of the players that Spurs are reported to be linked to is Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar but he is simply unaffordable. At the same time, Inter has made Ndomeble their priority signing according to Sky Sports Italia as cited by SempreInter.

That makes a swap deal a very real prospect.

Everything really does hinge on whether Levy will crack and allow Ndomebele to leave North London. Jose Mourinho wanted Skriniar when he was Man Utd manager (The Express) and at the same time, he appears to have lost confidence in Ndomeble (GetFootballNewsFrance).

This one is going to run, the perfect deal would be a swap, it seems to suit everyone, except Levy and at the end of the day, he has the final say.

Totally agree. He’s a good price and can play left or right back. Thats the versatility we need. Anything but Aarons. He’s so overrated!

VDV and Gasgoine were my favorites, but good shout on Ardiles and Villa!

No we should get a look at him in the Champions League play offs if he’s not injured.

For me, nothing tops the day we signed Ardiles and Villa, I think by the time we signed Klinsmann I’d become cynical about the odd big name we’d buy to fob off the fans, Ginola eg.

It’s official Spurs have signed Lionel Messi (correction Hojbjerg) who passed his medical this morning.

Arrange a meeting between Ndombele and Roy “take no prisoners” Keane. That will quickly fix his attitude!!

How many CBacks does a club need,Toby,Sanchez,Dier and Tanganga. We also have to shift Foyth yet. If N’dombele goes we need to get a quality CMF to play alongside LoCelso & Hojbjerg.

This all seems a bit NewsNow Tottenham to me. The problem with swapsies is that each party values their asset higher than the other’s and finding a mutually acceptable compromise is not easy, especially if one of those parties is our chairman.

I suspect the silence on PEH is more from the Saints end as they don’t want anyone to know how they got their pants pulled down over the deal. Or because KWP still has to pass a medical before any announcement is made.

Anyone on his wages should not need motivating to do their job.
Keep your body in shape, attend training, train hard and play football with commitment for 90 mins. Is that too big an ask? The way he is at the moment, you’d think he had to take a second job as a late night pizza delivery driver to make ends meet (and scoring some pizzas on the way).

Skriniar and how much money though?

I’d be really surprised. Mourinho is hopefully spending the summer in long talks with Ndombele and trying to motivate him. He has the talent and it’s just attitude to fix

Can’t see Levy sanctioning a swap deal involving our biggest investment to date. TBF, Ndombele hasn’t had enough time to adapt. Poch himself said it could take 18 months. He will be worked hard in the off-season and I believe we’ll give hime next season to prove himself… and if we do get rid of him, I think it will be a like for like replacement.. Someone like Savic would make sense, but like I say, I can’t see that happening this season.

There is a high upside to Tanguy if Mourinho can get him going so I don’t see it happening but who knows?
