JosĂ© Mourinho is many things, but after at least two seasons of an increasingly worn out âbery happyâ routine, weâve also discovered the Portuguese is also the perfect antidote to the nicey-nicey of mediocrity.
Thisâ eff offâ aimed at the lame brains on TV debating his worth is guaranteed to reinforce the view that Tottenham have hired a narcissistic sewer rat, amongst the fans convinced JosĂ© is a bad thing. I take a view that this is how grown men behave when listening to wet hens clucking.
This Amazon documentary suddenly looks unmissable.
More, please.
“There’s only 2 ways of proving himself, and he won’t do either with words.”
This is precisely why JM currently has a job that pays him twice what PM was on, and why PM has been sidelined by every big club going.
CV’s talk and bull guano walks.
If JM fails at Spurs then of course he is a loser.
In other news, rain is wet.
Winning is the metric and THAT is a discipline JM knows well.
All too well.
I’m seeing now. Its all good. I’m not gonna worry about what it could be like in the future. That’s not me.
Just saying, you think itâs a match made in heaven based on very little at all. Weâll see…
Fantastic club. The futures bright. Exciting times a head. Even without the cheese. Who don’t like a cheese board? arteriesđ
“Nicey nicey of mediocrity” – not winning a trophy was frustrating, as was the role our chairman played in undermining much of the great work done by the coaches and squad for 5 years; but describing an EPL 2nd place & CL final while your chairman’s monies are focused primarily on the brand & stadium as a sign of mediocrity looks a tad churlish from where I’m sitting, and I’m someone who thought Mo’s time was definitely up when he went; I’m also not a Maureen’s style of play hater though it can sometimes take some of the fun out of a match.
I’m all for backing whomever is at the helm, but not at the cost of dismissing out of hand any negative point of view just because it’s negative. The judgement of Maureen being past his best when assessed using his last 5 years of trophies won, vs the previous 5 years of trophies, vs the previous 10 years of trophies, I would argue, reveal his career form to be on a clear downward trajectory. Of course one can argue mitigating circumstances like differing issues within the clubs or with players, which can add layers of complexity that make any sort of objectively true judgement impossible, and may also simply expose the ‘big spending = big trophies’ problem at the heart of an ostensibly fair competitive sport, not to mention revealing the Special One’s M.O. during his most successful period, which raises other questions about his likely success at this club.
He was on camera. He knows how to play to it. His response was petulant, and good telly. No one hopes the ‘winner’ manages to claim one of the two elite trophies more than I do; I’ve been waiting for a little over half a century and coming as close as we did but losing out the way we did took the wind out of what I have left of my slowly dissolving interest in football, and then the Rona came along and drained the fun a little more; I am in serious need of a lift.
While suspecting that his best may indeed be behind him, I of course wish him well, and hope he achieves what the last fella came within a hair’s breadth of achieving despite being dragged back by Lewis & Levy’s brand building break pads.
There’s only 2 ways of proving himself, and he won’t do either with words.
I want them both to stay. (Unless ndom 100% doesn’t want to play for us. He might have some personal problems and none of this is anything to do with the club. Who knows though
“May have set the tone for their future relationship?đ you kill me man.
đđ my guy.
The more I see of Maureen the more Iâm growing to like him and believe he still has what it takes to bring us some success.
Poch was part of the furniture and felt he deserved to have more say on transfers and the general running of things. He wasnât keen on the documentary and from that clip Jose only seems to be suffering it as a condition to being given the job.
For me, no manager wants a âf**ckingâ camera shoved in their face while trying to do their job and why would JosĂ© of all people embrace such a non football related distraction? Heâll be glad when Amazon and Levy have left him alone to get on with his job of winning football matches.
Heâs having to work with a set of difficult financial constraints at Spurs (as Poch did) and to be told by the micromanaging Baldy that he wants the extra cash from a reality TV show, may well have set the tone for their future relationship. It will be interesting.
I see these two men knowing what each of them bring to the table and theyâre tolerating each other for mutual gain. Nothing more…
With no immediate sign of acquiring such player the absence of quality playmaker creative midfielder still irks!!
Yes whilst I’d like to see Aurier and Ndombele shifted out competition for places is a good thing!!
It’s interesting that we now have three new players, yet nobody has been moved on.Maybe Mourinho’s plan is to strengthen the squad so that we then have a stronger bench. The ones left out can go and it will be his choice who that is.So I expect the outgoings to be towards the end of the window.
đ Looking forward to all this.. As Marbella previously posted it will be heavily edited, but it will be an eye opener still.
