Tottenham tipped to sell four players to fund transfer buys

By Bruce Grove -

The coronavirus pandemic is set to affect how teams buy and sell players this summer and that could mean players being shipped out to fund transfers. This is because teams have lost significant money due to the economic impact of covid19.

Spurs would want to strengthen their team in the summer regardless as they look to win a trophy under Jose Mourinho.

However, the Portuguese manager is unlikely to be given too much money to spend and he will have to be creative with how he lands his transfer targets.

A new report from The Times claims that Spurs might sell up to four players to fund their summer transfer kitty, and some of the names might surprise you.

The report claims that the Lilywhites would look to sell Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters. Both players don’t feature in Mourinho’s immediate plans for the club, however, they are joined by two other surprising names.

It claims that the club might also sell Eric Dier and Serge Aurier, both names would be surprising departures because they appear to have been favoured by Mourinho.

Dier has been shifted back to his preferred centre back role, and he has done ok in that position, while Serge Aurier has been a regular under Mourinho as well.

I have to admit, if those four are sold, I would have zero complaints. I do not regard any of them as Tottenham quality.

All can go apart from serge. He’s getting better and better. Good useful squad player. (He’s not a defender, he’s an outside right) all domestic cup games are his, plus a few lesser prem games. Yousef atal for right back

We used to have two Full backs at the top of their game, it worked very well.

Totally agree. Walker Peters hasn’t had much of an opportunity, but clearly hasn’t showed it in training, like Yedlin before him I guess. Dier did well when he arrived, but he is hopeless in midfield and a squad man at best at the back. Always seems so slow and his passing is sub standard. Danny has been a great servant, but speaks out too much and that will never go down well, plus he is past his prime. Aurier is a real problem. On and off the pitch. Just an absolute turd. Someone like him in your team who switches off, jogs back, gives away a penalty. Really disrupts the team and the central defender his side. He was an example of very poor scouting at the club. Ricardo Perreira has been brilliant at Leicester and cost a similar amount. Left back too, with Ben Davies never getting in a too 6 side and Sessegnon some way away. You look at Liverpool and see how important two full backs at the top of their game are, both with many years ahead of them.
