Tottenham star ‘holds talks’ with club over January move – journalist confirms player wants to leave

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur could have a busy transfer window next month.

Antonio Conte has stated his intention to continue improving his squad in the coming transfer windows in order to compete with the other top clubs in the league.

This is said to be one of the main demands in his contract negotiations. He will be expecting the full backing from Daniel Levy in the upcoming transfer windows.

Spurs are reportedly interested in a right wing-back, an attacker and a centre-back.

A number of players are expected to be leaving the club too with a report suggesting that Fabio Paratici is looking to get rid of at least 8 players.

Amongst the players linked with a January exit include Bryan Gil, Japhet Tanganga, Emerson Royal, Djed Spence, and Aflie Whiteman.

Another player who could be on his way out is Lucas Moura and according to Brazilian outlet LANCE, the player is in talks with his former club Sao Paulo about a potential return.

The report states that ‘Moura would have always made it clear that he is interested in returning to São Paulo’.

The £80k-a-week attacker has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, and with Conte reportedly interested in another attacker in January, he is not likely to get much playing time.

The report also adds that the ‘interest is mutual’ between the player and the club.

Journalist Ben Jacobs had previously reported that Moura is unhappy at his current role at Spurs and will be looking to leave the club in January.

He has been a great signing for Spurs and played a key role in their brilliant Champions League campaign that saw them reach the final under Pochettino.

But it seems as if his time at the club has come to an end and he will be leaving in the coming month.
