Report: Massive January transfer reshuffle expected as Paratici could ship up to eight players

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will put a lot of emphasis on incoming players in January, but the team also has a lot of outgoing business to take care of.

A number of Tottenham players may leave the team as Fabio Paratici is expected to reshuffle the squad due to the lack of playing time during the 2022–23 season.

On the top of the list is Bryan Gil. The young Spaniard is expected to be the first player to be leaving Spurs. He has barely featured for Spurs since arriving which has seen his development come to a halt. It is now being reported that he will be allowed to leave in January.

Japhet Tanganga will also be expected to leave on loan. According to Football London, amongst those who will be shipped out will also include Davinson Sanchez, Pape Matar Sarr, and Harvey White.

The report also claims that one of Emerson Royal or Djed Spence will be shipped out with Conte looking to improve the right-back position.

Emerson Royal has been Conte’s primary right-back this season despite him being poor but Conte does not seem to trust his other options yet. However, Spence has been ignored by the Italian who has publicly stated that the Englishman was not his signing. And so it is quite possible that one or both of them could be shipped out and a top class right-back is brought in with Spurs linked with the likes of Dumfries.

And finally, the back goalkeeper could also be sold with Spurs now having four options in goal after Aflie Whiteman’s return from the loan spell. Spurs must decide whether Whiteman leaves again or if he is elevated to third-choice goalkeeper.

If the report from Football London is true, Spurs fans can expect a very busy January transfer window.
