Tottenham set to complete transfer deal with Championship outfit

By Bruce Grove -

Luke Amos is set to leave Tottenham and join QPR in a permanent move after his successful stint on loan with the Hoops in the just-concluded season, reports TalkSport.

The 23-year-old has been at Tottenham since he was 10 years old and he looked like he would break into the club’s first team in 2018 under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

However, a serious injury halted his momentum, and he decided to go out on loan to get more first-team action last summer.

His loan spell with Rangers was a successful one as he made 35 appearances for the club in their unsuccessful bid to return to the Premier League.

TalkSport claims that he struck up a close bond with his manager, Mark Warburton, last season and they decided to bring him back.

His performances for them meant that there was competition for his signature, and Middlesbrough also wanted to sign him.

However, he has decided to return to Rangers after his successful loan spell there, and he will spend the next three seasons on their books.

Tottenham have accepted an undisclosed but low transfer fee for his transfer, however, they reportedly laced the move with add-ons that will see them earn some good value overall from his sale.

The report claims the transfer will be officially announced within the next 48 hours.

Yes but he doesn’t generally give them an extended run or make them a regular role. Possibly because as you say he has had more experienced quality at the club’s he’s been at before.

I think that’s a myth ,because he always plays his more experienced or better quality players and it gets cast up.Christensen & LoftusCheek@ Chelsea,McTominay,& Tuanzebe,@Utd,Tanganga@Spurs,Nacho, & Fabinho @Real Madrid are just some examples of ones you would know and have made it.Dozens of players have made their debut under Jose.

Poch at least gave these players chance to prove themselves, I can’t see Jose doing that. It’s not his thing and never has been.

Onamah looked good for his first few games but just seemed not not be quite cut out for the very top level, there’s no shame in that but it proves that no matter how promising players out of the academy might look, most end up in a division or two below eventually…

Luke came on as a sub in the first game 2018/19 against Newcastle but later on had a bad knee injury ruling him out for the season. He has been on loan to several clubs Southend,Stevenage and now Qpr were he has found his level. Spurs have included a sell on clause to hopefully get a more realistic price for him eventually.I watched him in preseason tournaments and Poch had high hopes for him but like Onamah if the breaks aren’t there for you at your parent club, sometimes you have to drop down a league and get back to the PL via a different route.A loan will help Skipp and Parrot get games instead of sitting on the bench for us.

Good luck to him at QPR, good to see aa player go out and take a chance if he isn’t getting a look in at his parent club.

Donna Cullen told us a couple of summers back that Amos and Skipp meant we didn’t need to go into the market for players. Two years later neither have had any impact whatsoever, Amos hasn’t even played for the first team has he?

This regime will say anything at anytime to string the fans along and make them go away and leave ENIC to their underhand, anti football stuff…
