Tottenham legend hails derided Spurs man who always gives his all for the club

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham went into the last transfer window intent on improving their team as they wanted to start winning trophies.

The squad itself wasn’t so bad previously, but they still added some quality players to the squad.

Matt Doherty was one of the new arrivals at the club and he was expected to take Serge Aurier’s place in the team.

The Ivorian was even expected to leave the club in the last transfer window because of the arrival of Doherty.

However, he remained and he has now become one of the most improved players in the team.

He played in the north London derby at the weekend and he was in fine form.

There was also the time when his brother died and he still turned up for the club, his efforts and dedication has been hailed by Tottenham legend, Graham Roberts who tweeted:

Aurier will hope that he remains a key member of the team for the whole of this season. He is certainly giving himself a huge chance to do just that.

Maureen did say to Aurier he could make him one of the best right backs in the world according to reports. People laughed at this. They are not laughing anymore.. Maureen also said when Doherty arrived ‘it no way spells the end of Aurier’.. So I’m not sure why the Mirror were linking him with Milan. Perhaps they made a bid. We sold KWP so I don’t think there was any intention to sell Serge.
