After being drawn to play two away games in the Europa League, Tottenham has finally been awarded a home match in the competition.
The Lilywhites survived a major scare when they had to come from a goal down to beat Bulgarian side, Lokomotiv Plovdiv yesterday.
The 2-1 win has helped them to reach the next qualifying phase of the competition where they will face Shkendija of Macedonia.
That game will also be played away from home by Jose Mourinho’s men.
However, if they manage to win that one-legged tie, they will then play at home in the play-off round.
The draw for that round has been made and the Lilywhites will face either Rostov or Maccabi Haifa at home as reported by Football London.
Mourinho has won the Europa League twice and he knows that this Tottenham team is starved of success.
He will be keen to get his hands on the trophy for the Lilywhites.
The club has backed him heavily in this transfer window. They have signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty to help the team.
There are more players to come and this summer will witness the return of Gareth Bale to the club.
I think this season, particularly due to the extra problems, the minnows should have been playing preliminary qualifiers and the elite teams come in at the third round.A trip to Russia or Israel after Macedonia is madness.
Good news that would have been really bad luck 3 ties away.
I presume if we progress we go into a mini league of home& away ties?
Cheers
Cheers.

1/10/20 Home tie
Would have been helpful Bruce if you could have given us the date of this tie? Presumably Reg will be able to play but what about Bale? I tend to only come here for my news as I find the fan sites very shallow and a bit on the happy-clappy side, you know the sort of thing: “now we’re going to win the title blah blah”.
