“They’re not better than Wolves” Pundit slams Tottenham and makes dire prediction for next season

By Bruce Grove -

Jermaine Jenas is desperately trying to carve out a career for himself as a pundit but unfortunately, just like his playing career, he is distinctly average.

It seems he may have realised that and has decided that the best way for him to make a name for himself is to come out with as much waffle as he can and hope some of it sticks.

That way he can come back at a later day and say, I told you so.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jenas reckons that next season will be no better for Spurs, that Jose Mourinho will be left out to dry, that Wolves are a better team and basically, so are Arsenal.

“It’s going to be really frustrating I think for Mourinho next year because he’s going to be the one left out to dry I think,” Jenas said.

“Essentially he needs players and they are a team that I don’t see getting in the top four right now.

“They’re not better than Wolves, they’re about on par with Arsenal but actually I see what [Mikel] Arteta is doing and I think that he is just ahead of what Mourinho is doing with his team.

“I don’t see it being a very pretty season for Jose or Tottenham at all.”

No doubt some will agree with what Jenas has said, I certainly do not and the stats are on my side.

The negativity surrounding Tottenham at the moment is very myopic in my opinion and the assumption is that we will be a mid-table team next season and are a club in free fall.

There is nothing to back that up, well, nothing solid but Jenas has got himself in the papers and on websites like this so I suppose he has achieved what he wanted to.

😆 The Boy signed up two writers to his team. Notice some written by Bruce and Joe.. There will be differing views naturally… Good move I think offering different perspectives. Sets up debates.

JJ has been a pundit for time now. There’s no desperation.. He was an average player compared to Englands best at the time, but we were blessed with the likes of Gerrard and Lampard back then.. We would never have won that league cup in 2001 if it wasn’t for JJ. Semi final against the gooners he was instrumental.

Lineker has a personality suitable for tv, which is that bit extra you need when presenting, however I’m seeing and hearing a distinct change in presenters on the beeb, I need an interpreter.

As a player unexceptional. Likeable personality.

He’s fairly bland but that’s what Lineker is, at least he is ex Spurs and not one of the ex Liverpool, United, Arsenal media mafia.

“Jermaine Jenas is desperately trying to carve out a career for himself as a pundit”

Mr Jenas began his now well up and running career in 2014, and I’m struggling to see anything desperate about his efforts to this point. In fact I regard him as pretty decent generally, and on a good day rather good. I’m struggling to disagree with any of the above from JJ, aside from perhaps his not seeing Spuds making top 4; I just think it’s too early to judge Maureen’s first full season.

He’s not good enough at that either.

Stats – don’t believe everything JM says he is a wind up merchant so his “champions of the restart” was a joke (although Levy did get T-Shirts printed). Wolves had a very good season and the Nomads won a trophy.
Jenas is a better commentator than he ever was a m/f general though I kiss his rear for that goal.
FYI it is not mid table we are worried about it is getting back to the top. After CL for so long it will be turgid to play in the Cheeky League. 2/10

Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Watford’s Sarr’s agents. He is precisely the sort of player we should be looking to sign and he could turn out to be another Mane. Meanwhile, there are several clubs interested in David Brooks of Bournemouth, another player we had admired for years. Meanwhile Levy faffs about with Southampton over Hjojberg. The transfer policy at Spurs is about as joined up as the Government’s Covid 19 policy which is completely shambolic and made up on the hoof, like our recruitment policy.

Don’t read the article then cos let’s be honest making either argument is swing a bat in the dark the next month rests on levy a decent dcm and rb changes our team considerably and allows us to play the jose way since jose took over only 3 teams got more points lets see what happens

Is this article for real? There was a time that your views would have been unwelcome on here. Has a member of the Levy clan infiltrated the Boyhotspur realm?

Jose needs backing but Levy HAS to start getting rid of players and quick..seems like Alli and Dier are staying which means at least two of the players below will have to be shipped:
Sissoko
Lamela
Winks
Moura
Fernandes (the fake one)
Skipp (on loan, do not sell)

Need rid of:
Foyth
Carter Vickers
Oreo

I would sell Alli, Winks and Lamela but haho…

I think Bruce and Joe are the same person and live in TBH’s basement with only YouTube as their source of information…

I think Jenas has hit the nail on the head and is bang on. Lets be honest here and say that aside from thrashing a Leicester City carved apart by injuries with no recognisable defence, a jammy win against a very poor Everton side, and beating Arsenal in which both sides raised their game as is usual in that fixture, what did we do to show anyone we were good enough for top 4 next season? Probably some of the worst performances I’ve ever seen from a Spurs side against the likes of Bournemouth, Palace, Sheffield Utd etc. Not to mention our CL thrashings. How many shots on target did we mount in those 3 fixtures, it was little short of embarrassing to watch and we only scraped into the top 6 thanks to Chelsea and our world class striker.
But, and it’s a big but, if Levy actually supports his manager for once, then we can improve and build on those better results. I’m not saying it’s going to be pretty, but we can improve and maybe achieve things playing the Jose way. It’s a fact that he is a winner and if we can adapt, and Levy actually does something for the footballing side of things as opposed to the ENIC bank balance, then we can get still success.
I for one am not holding my breath though, I know Levy never backs his managers.
I think Jenas is just saying what the vast majority of people are thinking, and good luck to him for saying it. Under ENIC we’re becoming a bit of a laughing stock. The club that made it but was not supported by our owners. Now the moment has gone and it will be bloody hard to get back there again.

I think Jenas is actually a pretty decent pundit. A quick look at the table to the right here suggests he’s not too far off the mark with these comments either!

Bruce – you are on something if you think that we are not worse than a team that one a trophy, and a team that is improving rather than dropping. We have one of the most boring managers ever to be put upon us, and a chairman that will simply not invest. If we get top 6 next season it will be a blessing!

Why the spin about Jenas. I don’t like what he said but I’ll take his view over yours any day.
