Not for the first time this season, Dele Alli reacted badly to being substitued, during last night’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig.
The 23-year-old midfielder threw his boot in frustration in response to being hooked by Jose Mourinho with more than 25 minutes to play.

Quizzed about the incident at his post-match press conference, Mourinho claimed that Dele’s anger was not directed towards him but rather a reflection on his own performance, which he had very little sympathy with!

Dele’s effort was not lacking last night – he covered more ground than any other Spurs player despite playing fewer minutes – but nothing came off for him as he was swarmed by Leipzig defenders and lacked options to pass to.
We looked much more threatening with Erik Lamela and Tanguy Ndombele on the pitch, so Jose deserves credit for making the changes when he did.
