“That’s the best option” Pundit reckons Tottenham should swap this unhappy player

By Bruce Grove -

Former Premier League striker, Noel Whelan says it is probably best for Tottenham to swap Tanguy Ndombele for Franck Kessie as currently being speculated.

Calciomercato reports Tottenham is considering shifting the Frenchman to Milan in exchange for contract-rebel Kessie.

The move would make perfect sense for Tottenham considering that Ndombele has failed to make the Tottenham team while Kessie continues to deliver some of the finest performances in Europe.

This is not the first time that Ndombele has been out of the first-team picture at Tottenham and it is probably best for the club to cut him loose.

Whelan says he has looked like a man that wants out for some time now and it is a superb idea to swap him for a midfielder as good as Kessie.

Whelan told Football Insider: “That’s the best option in my eyes, definitely.

“When a player makes it abundantly clear he wants to leave the club it is very difficult to keep him as part of the squad.

“Yes, he can be a brilliant player but it just hasn’t work out. There has been too many frustrations. His work rate and consistency has not been there. It has been disappointing.

“Many clubs have shown an interest in Ndombele but none of them are willing to shell out the big-money Spurs want for him. No-one wants to take the risk.

“It’s probably best for player and club if they can use him to get a player like Kessie in. Spurs need to get a player in who wants to be part of the club.

“A trade deal might be the only way to get Ndombele out.”

The Ivorian is just 24 years old and fits right into Spurs’ plans to sign young players. It would be interesting to see if they can pull off the transfer in January.

Is he not right in the head outside of work? There is nothing wrong with ndoms mental health. No need for him to attended any groups or to take sodium valporate quetiapine and all the rest of it

Mason dropping him for his mates really pi$$’d ndom off. I’m not trying to justify him still sulking mind
He had some good good games under Jose even though Jose pi$$d him off too. He’s still the most talented/gifted footballer at tottenham

Again, I hope you are right but I just don’t think he’s got the mentality.

He’s no Gazza. I think Nuno is decent and has clearly seen nothing to make him a focal point of the team. Grit is as important as talent and that wastril has none of the former. A real shame but it was reported before we signed him.

They need to get sports psychologists in to see the lad (probably the squad). Poch and Jose tried to do it themselves but technical ability may need a higher standard.

Joking aside we need to get ndom playing. Simple as that. By any means nessecary kinda thing. Ndom reminds me of gaza as in exceptional talent. We need a el tel to get the best out of him.

i agree player wise but why swap one of our biggest assets when Kessie will be a freebie in the summer !!! We should get him cheap in January

For all the undeniable drivel he has spouted recently, for ONCE he actually has & makes a valid point. (Unless THFC do see a turn round in Ndombele’s attitude, willingness, desire, etc sharpish?)
Well done Noel, hope you can keep it up.
