Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat of the Jose Mourinho era last night, going down 2-1 to his former club Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The silver lining to this result was the continued renaissance of Dele Alli, who scored his fourth goal in four games since the change of management.

And what a goal it was; a sublime first touch to lift the ball over two United defenders, and great composure and technique to half-volley past David de Gea.

Dele wouldn’t even have tried this a few months ago; that’s what confidence does to a man and Mourinho needs crediting for instilling that in him.
Unfortunately, this moment of magic counted for nothing as Marcus Rashford goals early ensured it was an unhappy return for Mourinho.
