Giovani Lo Celso lauded Cristian Romero’s standout performance in the North London Derby.
Things didn’t go according to plan for Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby. A win over their arch-rivals would have brought them back on track for a top-four finish and it would have been a major blow to Arsenal’s title hopes.
A 4-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United around two weeks back was a big blow for Ange Postecoglou’s team but the expectation was that they would bounce back against Arsenal in the Derby.
Despite their efforts, they couldn’t get the desired result against the Gunners who won 3-2 in the end. With just a handful of games to go, Spurs will have to dig deep to ensure they can finish in a Champions League spot.
Following the defeat in the North London Derby, Argentine centre-back Romero took to Instagram to share a message to Spurs fans: ‘I am more than ever with this team’. Teammate Lo Celso was in the comments, stating: ‘What a player!! Warrior’, applauding the 26-year-old’s performance in the Derby.

Romero put on an impressive display against Tottenham’s rivals and did everything in his power to try and help Tottenham win the game.
Arsenal took a 3-0 lead in the first half itself. While things were not going as planned for the home team, Romero showed a lot of character as he tried to inspire a comeback. The Argentine defender did score Spurs’ first goal of the game but unfortunately, they still ended up on the losing side.
But, his performance surely didn’t go unnoticed as Ange Postecoglou and teammate Lo Celso were quick to acknowledge his efforts on the pitch.
