Spurs take uncharacteristic step to confirm Tanguy Ndombele position

By The Boy -

As we told you in prompt fashion yesterday, talk of Tanguy to Inter was complete fiction. No talks, no negotiations, no nothing, just a couple of journalists for The Guardian who might care to ponder upon the wisdom of running their misguided piece in the first place.

As per Alasdair Gold’s Tweet above, the club’s press office has taken the unusual step of denying the tale to multiple journalists. Clearly there was a situation surrounding the Frenchman, and it was deemed the best course of action for all concerned to stamp the rumours out.

Tanguy staying and hopefully working hard to become a first team regular at Spurs is obviously great news, but the coming season cannot be a repeat of the last one. Hiring a player on £200,000 a week is one thing, but becoming a laughingstock is quite another.

Thing is if you were a neutral you would hear JMs comments on the boy and think he has given up on him. It seems a Levy decision. This time next year we could be applauding it for seeing a player strutting his stuff or……………………….50/50

I don’t know what this blog would do without your inciteful comments mate. If you had your way only players from the N17 community would be allowed to play for Spurs lol.

This is Levy saving face.He paid 50+M for a guy who’s not turned up yet.It makes his alleged prowess in the market place look decidedly suspect. To sell cheaply now in this new environment would kill him.

I think Levy has to keep him, at least till the January transfer to see if Jose can get a song out of him….

As previously mentioned, I also think Jose will keep Alli, problem is we need to move on Poch’s rejects but its not looking as though thats going to happen any time soon…getting rid of players at he right time is just as important as buying new..Alli and Lamela need to go with plenty more to follow..

I wonder whether this is just a case of Levy over-ruling his manager to save his own face? It’s as clear as day that Jose doesn’t want the player for multiple reasons including doesn’t fit his style of play, apparent laziness, inability to get properly fit etc.
probably the best solution would have been to get shot of him as the player doesn’t seem to have the right attitude. Excuses made for him that he is far from home and misses his family are absolute crap – he’s from France! Wow London must seem so strange to a player from the other side of the world…
I sincerely hope we can turn him around and Jose can find a way to fit him in the team, if not then we have a possible Bale situation where he puts his feet up and earns silly money for doing next to nothing. Lets all pray that he can be turned around in the summer break and that a solution can be found. Because otherwise we would have been better off doing a player exchange with Milan in the long run.
