Spanish outfit make Tottenham youngster one of their primary targets

By Bruce Grove -

AS via Sport Witness is reporting that Tottenham’s Juan Foyth is of interest to La Liga outfit Villarreal in this transfer window.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs despite interest from Villarreal and French Champions PSG the report claims.

Foyth was signed by Mauricio Pochettino and the former manager trusted him, however, he has now fallen down the pecking order with Jose Mourinho and has barely played since the Portuguese became Spurs’ manager.

The report also states that the special one will be more than happy to sell the defender, though that is not a view shared by the club.

It seems that there is a feeling by some at Tottenham that he has the talent to make it to the highest level and they are prepared to keep him until he can achieve his full potential.

Because of that they might instead sanction a loan move away or include a buy-back option in any deal that takes him away from the Tottenham Stadium.

Spurs have had a busy transfer window as they look to prepare for a top-four finish in the coming campaign.

They have already signed a few players, but they haven’t signed a centre back yet, despite losing Jan Vertonghen.

If Foyth leaves, it will make it even more important for them to sign another central defender.

Should have been loaned out long ago if he wasn’t being played.

If Mourinho wants to sell him,and Levy has made it clear we need to sell before we buy this is a no brainer.I watched him still trying to turn attackers against Watford and losing the ball in dangerous areas, doesn’t seem to learn from his basic mistakes.
