Tottenham Hotspur has yet to see any departures from their squad, but that could be changing with the January transfer window closing in a couple of days. Dele Alli is one name that could be leaving, which is best for both parties involved.
On Sky Sports’ “The Transfer Show,” journalist Dharmesh Sheth states that Tottenham is open to offers for the 25-year-old who has yet to regain his past former.
Sheth also ponders whether it’s in Spurs’ best interest for Alli to leave on a permanent deal or let him go on a loan deal to allow the midfielder to improve his value and perhaps sell in the summer.
“Dele Alli’s contract is up in 2024, and Tottenham are listening to offers,” Sheth said.
“I just wonder, right now, whether it would be in Tottenham’s interests to agree to a loan deal because if they agree to a permanent deal now, how much would he be worth? If he goes on loan, plays regularly, and plays well, when he comes back in the summer, his valuation goes up.”
The latest club interested in Alli is Newcastle United, which wants to improve their squad to avoid relegation. The situation is good and bad, as Alli would get significant playing time with The Magpies but could be part of a squad that gets relegated if these moves don’t work out.

Eddie Howe is looking for professional committed players with no issues, that rules Dele out then.
With a young coach Dele Alli will bounce back to show us what we area lol missing ..especially with 50 odd thousand Geordies roaring him on..
he just needs an arm round his shoulder and a really big club..Good luck Dele all the best..🤥🤮💩
Highly likely.
No.Let’s just hope one of them takes him off our hands. He’s finished.
He hasn’t shone since Poch was his coach, he worshipped the guy. Poch played him in the hole behind Kane where he would arrive in the box unannounced and get goals and assists galore. It’s a pity he can’t go to PSG. Unfortunately he’s lost interest in the game and become an expensive liability to us now. He’s a clown and baggage these days. Lets hope Newcastle or Everton can resurrect his career.
Then again he might sign for Man City for 150 Million. Or something. 😁
The only question this article answers is one I posed on an earlier blog, which is when Alli’s contract expires. Now e know and we’re likely left with him for another two years.Great.
