Since Pochettino was sacked Tottenham have just a 30% win record in this type of fixture

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s loss to West Ham United yesterday was the fourth London derby loss this season under Nuno Espirito Santo, which sadly is a 100% record and that got me thinking, how bad has it been against our local rivals since Mauricio Pochettino got fired.

There have been 20 London derbies in the Premier League that Tottenham has played since the Argentine was sacked and we have won a measly six.

There have been five draws and a whopping nine defeats. That equates to a winning record of just 30%.

In comparison, under Pochettino the win record was 52% and remember, that includes the stuttering start under the former Southampton boss and the abysmal end of his time in charge.

These are the numbers in full and are for Premier League matches only.

From May 27th 2014 To Nov 19th 2019 under Pochettino

Win 23 – 52.27%
Loss 10 – 22.73%
Draw 11 – 25.00%

From Nov 20th 2019 to Oct 25th 2021 since Pochettino was fired

Win 6 30.00%
Loss 9 45.00%
Draw 5 – 25.00%

It is clear that there has been a severe decline in positive derby results since Pochettino left the club and it is up to each of you to draw your own conclusion as to why that is.

I suspect the decline probably started in earnest when the decision was made not to invest in the squad for two whole seasons but that would require far more analysis and is an exercise for another day.

Now, a quick disclaimer, I have calculated these figures myself and done my own research, I have not taken them from any site, so if there is an error I apologise and in the event that there are mistakes I doubt it would make that much difference to the final figures.

I remember when enic took over. I had never heard of them, so asked someone who had. He told me about the other clubs they had a share in. None of them stood out.
But i asked wether they were good football type investors. The answer i got stuck with me. After thinking for a while he said “They lack ambition & dont spend much” . Stadium aside he was spot on

You’ve got to be able to stand by your position in a discussion win, lose or draw. Just bigging things up after wins and never after losses kind of undermines your argument, putting it mildly. I think fear of getting booted off has reigned people like him in. Nobody sane can stand by these swindlers, it’s impossible. Which is why I think most of them are working for the club or ENIC in some capacity. It’s just not logical for anyone to be backing this regime anymore.

Be nice to people, don’t take things out on others that you don’t agree with and peace, go about your business, mind your own business. Anything else is just bad karma…

Poch is a lot of things but one thing he definitely is, is a passionate football man. He gave us fight, spirit, attacking and positive football and most importantly pride in our team.

Things ONLY started to go downhill when the bald midget refused to keep the team moving in a forward direction, by backing him. He had his head up his stadium obsessed *rse to even care….

Perhaps if Levy had backed Mourinho that January with Skriniar and a few others he could have avoided all this and we could have remained in the top 4. But Levy is so dumb he can’t see that you have to speculate to accumulate. All that drives him is saving pennies everywhere he can, Lewis couldn’t have found a worse chairman if he tried, except of course he makes him money. But at what cost now?

What a great move by Levy, sacking Pochettino instead of backing him was another massive mistake by Levy. 20 years of failure and he’s still running the club. Time for him and Lewis to go.

Spurs to beat Utd???? Only a fool would fancy us, and that’s where ENIC FC are at the moment. We all know where the Cancer is but it’s Groundhog Day as we point out the obvious.

Tappa conspicuous by his absence since our latest reversal, but then I expect he’ll be around soon enough with his cronies, Levy apologists, (there ought to be compulsory lobotomies for such a species) hitting the down vote buttons!

I’ve said it on here before. There’s a huge amount of Stockholm Syndrome amongst our fan base. ENIC took control of a club where the fans had become jaded for the previous 8 years and gave the appearance of being a legitimate spurs supporting board of directors. This is why they were forgiven when they screwed Jol and failed to back Harry Redknapp in the Jan window.

But now 8yrs since to be drop in the ocean compared to the 20yrs of sh*thousery they’ve put the fans through. ENICs pattern of behaviour has actually always been the same however the smart fans have seen through it. Unfortunately there will always be the Stockholm Syndrome victims who will defend them and the jam we’ll be eating tomorrow.

My late Godmother, a Spurs fan all her life (dad’s other sister, and his father, Villa fans) would tell me “we used to think Chelsea were a bit of a joke”,in earlier days, “The Pensioners” and in and out of the first division. Well, there is no doubt that we are – in most people’s eyes – the latter day JOKE CLUB in London. Very sad.

Amazing that they can find the cash to procure more land at some golf club but, yet, always come up short when the transfer window rolls around! But then ENIC have only ever been GENUINELY interested in making money from real estate, with the success on the playing field of our football club an unfortunate inconvenience for them.

Yes, it is becoming increasingly difficult to retain interest when, with ENIC around, we seem to be a club entirely without hope, having previously blown what are likely to have been our best ever chances for success under this lot.

We’re becoming a higher level version of Birmingham City where the only real entertainment to be had is the gallows humour we can generate from this sorry mess.

Actually, perhaps our “soppy” lot mentioned in my post above were showing some potential for becoming much nastier “c..ts” when they had that result in Manchester, before our bald headed wonder of a supremo decided to listen to the more snivelling members of our team. Nothing much changes at Spurs and not under the present regime at any rate.

Sad to admit but I’m losing interest in it completely. Perhaps it’s the somewhat hopeless nature of where we are at. ENIC, having rooted themselves so deeply into the area means they will be difficult to ever remove. THFC is the scratch that the infection got into, now the entire club is riddled with cellulitus.

For things to dramatically improve will require Levy to have a complete character transplant. Shift out the deadwood, cheaply if necessary. Bring in a top manager that can immediately inspire the players we keep, Lowe, Conte, Zidane whoever, then he needs to give them a big fat checkbook and walk away.

Of course none of this will happen because ENIC have no interest in investing in a football team. For them it’s a careless gamble. Why bother when you’re making a mint from buying up discounted real estate all around the neighbourhood.

And the same day as our 6-1, Villa thrashed Liverpool 7-2. I had wanted to record this “magic day” for posterity off MOM… BUT my recording facility chose that moment to go on the blink!

Pretty much my sentiments, too, “Glory”.

Off topic, a lot of fuss over Liverpool winning 5-0 at Old Trafford. I have to wonder (tongue in cheek) why they didn’t win 7-0! After all, our soppy b…..ks of a team won there 6-1 (hard to believe now, isn’t it?) only last season. Have a feeling United will bounce back against you know who next week (if not, could spell the end for Ole).

It’s getting to the state that I’m so hacked off with Levy’s lies and spin I don’t really care what happens to the team anymore. It’s too nauseating to be force fed this rubbish week in and week out because we have a chairman whose sole reason for existence is screwing every last penny out of the club that he can.
So what if we keep losing? Maybe Levy will start to sit up and take notice, realising it’s a mess caused solely by him. Buy enough average players or cheap punts and this is what happens to the team.
The man is so incredibly stupid, he dug a hole when he failed to back a world class manager over 3 windows, and he hasn’t stopped digging since. He conned us with the new stadium, I bet if he’d sent round a questionnaire saying “new stadium or investment in the team” all Spurs fans would have gone for the latter. It was literally one or the other it seems.
It’s unbelievable watching some of the guano on the youtube fan sites though – all sitting there “bigging each other up” and being positive in the extreme. I even saw one knob saying we’d win 3-0 yesterday!!! That’s not positivity that’s stupidity.
Until these sheep start to realise what Levy is doing to them and quit buying merchandise and tickets then nothing will change. Trouble is they just can’t help themselves can they baaaa.
