Dele Alli has found an unlikely ally in former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan who has slammed the media for their coverage of the Tottenham midfielder’s burglary.
Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, Jordan called out Sky Sports in particular for the inhuman and opportunist way that they reacted to the ordeal that Dele and his family suffered last week, describing it as “horrible, nasty gutter reporting.”
I think he’s spot on here and so do a lot of other Spurs fans.
Simon Jordan was not happy with the media to Dele:— The Spurs Web ⚪️ (@thespursweb) May 19, 2020
“Somehow Dele & his lifestyle are complicit in his downfall. It’s wrong!”
“Dele has a £150k watch? So what! He’s been held at knifepoint!”
“It is horrible, nasty gutter reporting and I loathe it!”pic.twitter.com/WyePjdR7BE
I don’t normally like Simon Jordan but he very much has a point here.— Glenn Chilcot (@glennchilcot) May 19, 2020

There is enough public interest to justify reporting on this story, as we have done on The Boy Hotspur, but the tone has been shameful in a lot of cases.
