Report – Tottenham and Liverpool want England International

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham and Liverpool are battling for the signature of Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips.

The England international has been one of the best players in Marcelo Bielsa’s side and his fine form helped them to get promoted back to the Premier League after 16 years.

He was rewarded for his efforts for them when he earned a call up to the England national team at the start of this season.

He has remained a part of the England set up since then and he might join a top side soon.

The Metro claims that the midfielder is attracting the attention of Tottenham and Liverpool.

Both teams are reportedly plotting a summer swoop for him as he continues to prove his worth to the team.

Spurs have had a fine summer transfer window and they added the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Gareth Bale to their team. It is expected that the club will continue to be active in future transfer windows and that is why it is no surprise to see the likes of Phillips linked with a move to Tottenham.

The Englishman isn’t expected to make the move in the next transfer window, but a summer move is a definite possibility.

The report claims that he might cost up to £50m, a fee that would be too much now but next year the club’s finances could be in much better shape making Phillips affordable.
