Report: Sassuolo club chief open to letting Tottenham transfer target depart in January

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve its striker position as the January window opens in less than two weeks. Over the summer, Spurs had been linked to strikers as a possible replacement for Harry Kane or one that can play with him.

However, with the 28-year-old struggling to produce goals, the north London club might want to bring in a player who can help the department. The main target for Tottenham appears to be ACF Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović. Nonetheless, they aren’t putting all their eggs into that basket.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, U.S. Sassuolo Calcio are open to selling Tottenham target striker Gianluca Scamacca. A few days ago, a story came out in Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) that Tottenham is in on the forward.

The 22-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Serie A side, scoring five goals. Last season, the striker was on loan with Genoa, where he made 30 appearances, scoring 12 goals.

Both club chief Fabio Paratici and manager Antonio Conte saw the Italy international up close, and it seems that his performance is enough to convince them to pursue. They aren’t alone, though, as Juventus also has eyes on the player.

When it comes to a potential cost, Transfermarkt puts his value at £13.5-million. Nevertheless, Sassuolo wants more than that as they initially wanted around £20million, but that price has only gone up.

The report also states that Sassuolo chairman Giovanni Carnevali is open to letting him leave this January.

We are linked with the top guy but will end up with this cheapo alternative. Levyworld shows no sign of collapsing….

He scored today (took it well) against Fiorentina, Vlahovic also scored and took the chance well, taken off four minutes to go and wasn’t happy.

PSG didn’t want him and RM are skint. Only City were interested.

100% accurate should have sold Kane last year to PSG or Real Madrid not to another premier league rival

We should get both. Sell Kane and get Vlahovic and Scamacca. Best case scenario imo

He’s in the Italy squad and will be become their main striker. Keep in mind he’s young. Inter wanted to sign him last summer, but of course they had no money to spend.

I called this weeks ago on here. If there is a new Kane out there, it’s this guy. Raspadori and Frattesi look promising too, also from Sassuolo.

Oh this guy is so much cheaper than Dusan, Levy will be falling over himself to persuade Paratici to pursue him instead of that crazily priced striker that we can’t afford because the cheese room needs restocking with cheese.
The thought never enters Levy’s thick skull that he might be crap and we have to buy again. He’s not exactly set Serie A on fire has he? 5 goals in 17 appearances doesn’t fill me with deep joy.
