The midfield is an area of the Tottenham Hotspur squad that needs to be upgraded despite the recent addition of Rodrigo Bentancur this past January. Various names are linked to the north London club to fill the need for this position.

One player connected to Spurs is Juventus midfielder and United States international Weston McKennie. According to Calciomercato, the Serie A side is undergoing a change that will affect their midfield, allowing players to depart, including the 23-year-old.

Spurs have already dipped into the Juventus squad to grab players that Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici landed Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski. However, it seems as though the club chief wants to land McKennie this summer.

McKennie is in his first season with Juventus, where he’s scored four goals in 28 appearances this season. The report didn’t state how much the Serie A side, but Transfermarkt puts the midfielder’s transfer value at £23-million. The American is also under contract until 2025.
