Report: Chelsea Looking to Swoop in and steal Tottenham Hotspur target

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is keen on improving their backline as they zone on an upgrade for Ben Davies. There are plenty of targets connected to the north London club, and one of them is Torino’s Gleison Bremer, who’s on the list of several other major European clubs.

As a result, Spurs face plenty of competition and the latest to join the race is their Premier League rivals, Chelsea. According to FootballLondon, The Blues are zoning in on the Brazil international to replace their outgoing central defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The 25-year-old is valued at £27-million by Transfermarkt, but the price will likely be more than that, considering the number of reported clubs interested in the defender.

So far this season, Bremer has appeared in 33 fixtures where he’s scored three goals and one assist. It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham can fend off Chelsea, who now have their ownership settled if the Torino man is the target they want to grab to put on their backline.

If you look at what Boehly’s done with the Dodgers I think you’ll reach the opposite conclusion. Chelsea will be better not worse.

Happily the end of the Abramovic era is the beginning of the end for the Chavs. There is only one way to go from the summit and that is down. Hopefully a Man Utd type of malaise and dysfunction will set in, now Chelsea will be run as a for profit business model, by a disparate consortium, no longer by an oligarchic benefactor. The potential for disharmony and stagnation is high and it couldn’t happen to a nicer club, so bring it on! Who cares who they buy. We have a real chance to overtake them next season and I am sure there is nothing that Conte would like more, he certainly hasn’t forgotten how they sacked him.
