Reality Cheque: Levy Struggling With Wage Demands Of Harry kane Replacement

By The Boy -

Daniel Levy must be exhausted, virtually every day he wakes up to find something else that’s gone horribly wrong. This morning the news has emerged that things weren’t much better for him back in February either with David Kent for Sportsmail suggesting that Tottenham made an enquiry about Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, the bad news was that Bundesliga star is thought to want £350,000 a week.

In truth, Levy could afford this – but again the Penury Myth will be wheeled out again. Kane is on £200,000 a week and Bale is hoovering up another £325,000, so if the Welshman were to be returned to sender after the Leicester City game, then there would be able resources to engage someone of Haaland’s calibre. The question remains then, just how committed are Spurs to offering value for money? Watching us minus Harry Kane is a completely different proposition, to watching us with the England captain in our team.

I feel we will never replace Kane in the short term so why try – would be better to bring in Gabby Jesus in a swap and spend the money on a Grealish, someone who makes the team tick – you can see the difference he makes for Villa.

I wonder people still buying this crap spin of Levy & co that he inquired about Haaland, in the history of Enic in the club when Levy purchased a top footballer that all the big clubs in Europe are interested in I say (Zero)0 I wonder when this fans will wake up and realise Levy&co have nothing to do with football, the guy is just broker he thinks he can produce top footballers himself and can sell in top Dollar in the market.

I don’t even want to think about that, but it’s more than likely!

And even he was the footballing equivalent of a flat track bully who would mostly be posted missing at places like Anfield.

If West Ham get a point at home to Southampton and Arsenal win at home to Brighton, we will need to win at Leicester to qualify for the conference, won’t we? Isn’t it just 7th place only that qualifies for this fairly meaningless new tournament.

I have to agree HH, we are in total chaos. I would say we have been for several years. The Poch period made things look stable for a while, as if there was direction with the football. Behind the scenes, a total mess…

Your now talking about players we have give an opportunity to based on a good tournament but were considered a risk not top tier when purchased. I too am disappointed but for your own sanity I would temper your expectation

Ossie era way before Enic, the others were star players amongst sh1t…hence league form and Klinsmann came to get his career back on track, I think you are seeing it through rose tinted glasses….but if that helps

2 World cup winners Ossie and Ricky….Gazza was the best young talent in the country and we were up against Liverpool and Utd for him, Lineker was England’s top striker. Klinsmann of course….although there was problems then.

Now it’s Doherty….

I even remember watching Popescu and Dimitrescu in the world cup and thinking I’d love them at Spurs……they came.

Anyone notice Levy’s use of there term “long term future of the club” in the statement?

We all know what that means, develop property and not a winning football team in the present. Property goes up in value over time without you needing to do very much, but football teams need constant investment. Which is why a property speculator pretending to be a football chairman doesn’t really work…

We are unlikely to have either so pretty irrelevant.

Certainly not having Kane in the side will hurt us quite significantly because it’s not just the goals you have to replace, it’s a second skipper, it’s the work rate, the sheer versatility to his game.

Haaland might be a serious goal scorer but Kane’s overall game is superior fin my opinion…

Haaland: who? Spurs? HaHaHaHa. Just tell them “yeah, sure!, but I want £350k a week” that should get rid of them.

Hahaha brilliant Harry! As long as we offer Haaland the right money I’m sure he’d be very tempted to come and play in the Europa conference league next season 😂😩😂

Erling is EXACTLY the kind of player the stadium con was supposed to bring. The kind we used to go for, the best, until cheapskate turned up.

Seems to be a lot going on at the club. Putting the fans high tonight a point not missed by the stream I watched it on. Also the late lap of honour by a couple of players. Love to be that fly. Where are you amazon now.
