My Reaction To The Chairman’s Message

By The Boy -

The traditional end-of-season message can be read in full on the club’s website. Quite frankly, even I was astounded by the lack of cognizance displayed by a man who really out to feeling the heat and demonstrating the teensiest bit of contrition. Instead, we get a pile of words that divert blame and fail to show any willingness to accept responsibility for what has become an untenable position.

Nobody cares about the spending on transfers – in fact telling us what you spent only serves to make this situation worse given how straightforwardly awful was the manner in which much of the money was squandered. To this end, this is not an atypical set of circumstances in which we find ourselves. Spurs by cheap, sell high and don’t win silverware.

The stadium’s value in any argument is only as good as the reality that is achieved with it. Has every penny been put back into the football team? I don’t know, but it would be great to see this evidenced. I’m afraid after ‘jam tomorrow’ for over 20-years, trust is thin on the ground. This ought not to be taken as a slur by one writer, Mr. Levy. It is YOU who now regularly has people screaming appalling things about you, beneath your office window.

Your search for a new manager is precisely because you decided to handicap one of the best coaches in the world. Those of us that understand football knew José would occasionally deliver some duff football. Those of us that understand football knew José would fall out with time-wasters. This is not secret knowledge from some inner sanctum – he’s been doing this since forever, and it is a by-product just like fillings inevitably follow eating too much candyfloss.

Just on the idea of a DOF? Please don’t bother, because that isn’t the core issue. YOU are. Paul Mitchell appears as what one might term a great guy – and yet you binned him. Can you see how that looks? If he was stealing Post-It notes, just tell us. Trust me, he won’t mind. Good ol’ Mitch, eh?

Please spare us more flim-flam and do 3 things with immediate effect. One – hire a coach who you can get a tune out of this aging and ‘sensitive’ squad of losers. None of them have won anything in a Tottenham shirt and these words ought to haunt them every day when they wake and see their face in a mirror.

As for losing sight of the club’s DNA, a full apology for not backing Pochettino for 18-months is still outstanding. I’m not interested in the European Super League debacle because it never actually happened.

Two – get the Kane sale done in a timely fashion. It is the seller’s responsibility to make provision, to prepare for succession management. Please do not waste time bickering over buttons. The new coach needs a full squad, a decent preseason and not to have an hour of his time wasted.

Three – get a replacement for Kane that is immediately up to the task. This, in plain language, means another Premier League striker who is ready, for, and able.

Maybe you’re just seeking to put on a brave face, but time is no longer with you, time is your absolute enemy and the interest in this particular ENIC brand is wearing painfully thin and whilst it would take a while for the board to start to feel it, empty seats and silent cashless terminals are not unthinkable – and much sooner than you might wish to believe.

You created this mess – and your first step to resolving it – is acknowledging that it is a mess. I would wish you good luck, but if the last two decades have taught us anything, you’d undoubtedly have a better idea of your own.

This message? Worth its weight in polystyrene chips.

Imagine spending all that money on a fancy shop but having no product to attract the punters.
Poor business acumen will always eventually catch up with you. Perhaps it wasn’t so strong in Levy’s fiefdom after all.

Well bloody said Sir. We get this clap trap from Levy every time things go belly up, ‘its the stadium cost'(who knocked it down in the first place Daniel?) ‘The market isnt liquid’ ‘covid-19 hasnt helped’ ‘I always have the best interests of the club amd fans’ Do one Daniel all you have dine is preserve mediocrity for over 20 years and for another 20 to come.

Did they ever actually say that though? I have no recollection of those exact words coming from anyone at the club myself.

Exactly we are deluding ourselves that levy/enic will change strategy, they are psychopaths and parasites and doing a damn good job of what they set out to do.

Right on.

I imagine Levy in his office doing a Richard Nixon, crying “why do they hate me??”

But, probably not. The owners don’t care, they will keep up the lip service but if they cherished this club they would not have demolished White Hart Lane. That is very much that.

How ironic that after tonight his game changer of a stadium, his words not mine, is likely to have considerably less footballing events for next season.

Do not fear Vinicious is here! Another typical Levy waste of money. I can here Levy saying “but he was much cheaper than Dybala and one day might be worth as much”. Yeah keep taking the tablets baldy.

Yes that “done a Leeds” is coming back to haunt the Levy apologists who first penned it alright!

Well said, but all wishful thinking. Has Levy ever done anything in an expedient manner? To your third point – Levy is totally f’d here. There really are no quality strikers available – even with the money he will get from selling Kane. Haaland is going to City, he would never consider Spurs. We are likely going to end up overpaying for Ings, a quality player, but one who will be out for injuries many more matches than he plays for us.

Well said Harry. He couldn’t help himself even let the game slip by saying it was a priority to get Champions League football and as an after thought winning trophies.

Yes I noticed the crafty switch from investing the stadium income in the team to investing in the club.

Brilliant, and you hit the nail on the head with his absolute lack of contrition or introspection. He has single-handedly torpedoed any possibility of a success on the pitch, while drowning us in outstanding debt.

At least we haven’t done a Leeds, eh? Because by now, we would have a world-famous manager and a squad of extremely hard-working honest professionals who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the fans and the badge on their shirts.

They’ve made their money back and some, everything now is all bunce and looks good on a spreadsheet.

The old song on the Shelf was ‘You make me happy when skies are grey!’ Since Levy has been a massive grey cloud who makes us miserable on a sunny day. Get lost Levy, you are a small man with a massive ego and if the financial damage does not take Spurs into receivership, then maybe, just maybe we might yet see a silver lining.

Bang on..this IS the problem, they can’t see the woods bla bla…this makes it so clear Lewis is a money man, to him its not a problem, as long as the debt gets paid the return of their investment is huge…

Narcissists like Levy don’t see that they’re the problem. Quite the opposite in fact. In Levy’s head he’s doing a fantastic job….

I agree, I think there’s something genuinely wrong with him from a behavioural perspective. How can anyone be this out of touch? 🤔

Great response HH.

‘Every single penny generated gets re-invested back into our Club.’ –

The ‘club’, not the team then? The ‘club’ has over 600m of debt to pay back.

‘We are absolutely clear that central to our ambitions is a successful football team – it is what we all crave.’ –

Ok, we had a very good team a few seasons ago but you neglected it. You sold Walker and Dembele, it took you almost two and a half years to attempt to replace the latter. You never replaced the former. Yes, we have been ‘close’ and whenever we get ‘close’ you fail to help the management get the job finished.

How do you even have the front to say this garbage when we didn’t sign a single player for over a year.

We are tired of the cliches, actions speak louder than words abd we’ve been listening to works for 22 years mate Abs the only trophy you have delivered was the League Cup 13 years ago.

Just f*ck off and spare us this hollow cr*p, which once analysed lacks any substance whatsoever. You’ve been spouting this drivel for over two decades, enough is enough.

We are bored with it and you, so stop patronising us any longer. It doesn’t wash…
