Tottenham Hotspur has yet to improve their squad with the January transfer window open for another two weeks. The north London club finds itself fighting for a top-four spot, so making an addition or two could tilt the battle in their favor.
Every pundit and supporter has the targets that Spurs should pursue, especially if Tottenham plans to back manager Antonio Conte financially. On talkSPORT(via Mirror), Pundit Jamie O’Hara stated that Leeds United superstar Raphinha should be a name The Lilywhites should pursue.
“He glides past people, the way he moves, the free-kick he almost scored. Everything about his game,” O’Hara said. “I would love him at Spurs; I would love him. But I don’t know if he would ever come, and Leeds definitely wouldn’t sell him. Brilliant player.”
This season, Leeds United wants to stay above water and avoid relegation. They’re 15th in the Premier League table, so they might hold onto Raphinha, who’s under contract until 2024, to ensure they don’t head down.
Should Spurs take O’Hara’s advice and pursue the Brazil international, TransferMarkt puts the 25-year-old’s transfer value at £36-million. The Leeds right-winger has scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists in 50 appearances for the English club.
The first name during this winter that caught my interest, amazing player
He’s a very good player but he plays in the PL. Skinflint Levy is only interested in discounted junk from abroad. I hope Conte can knock some sense into him eventually, literally.
I have to agree this boy has a touch of class, however our people are more focused on European based players and probably never heard of him.
With Liverpool apparently being interested in the player amongst other top clubs, this story is a non starter.Dan James is more our level and he’s rubbish.
This is a signing I could get behind. Rafinha is a class player. yes please.
I think calling Jamie O’Hara a pundit is very, very kind indeed.
