Pundit expects the same Mourinho tactics as in first Liverpool game

By Bruce Grove -

Chris Sutton expects Tottenham to employ the same tactics that almost got them a point in the first match against Liverpool earlier in the season.

The Lilywhites have had an inconsistent campaign, but this game offers them the chance to leapfrog the defending champions on the league table and move into the top four.

Both teams squared up to each other last year in the reverse of this fixture with Liverpool just edging Spurs in a 2-1 win, thanks to a late Roberto Firmino goal.

Spurs had a solid game plan for the match as they allowed the Reds to have the ball while attempting to hurt them on the counter.

They had the best chances in the game, but didn’t take all of them with Jose Mourinho later claiming that “the best team lost”.

Sutton expects Tottenham to set up in a low block again in this game, and believes Spurs will exploit Rhys Williams like Manchester United did if he starts for the visitors.

He writes on Mail Sport: “Spurs are likely to set up a low block, go without the ball and try to hurt their opponents on the counter.

“Liverpool left 19-year-old Rhys Williams exposed at centre back in the FA Cup and Manchester United exploited that. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are experienced enough to do the same if Williams starts and is again given no protection.”

China and the far east are faring better because they give their citzens no choice but to do as they are told. If Britain had done the same, we would likely be out of this mess. I am not saying China have not used this to manipulate the market, but in terms of real life, it boils down to different society.

Exactly. China back to normal, economy recovered meanwhile Europe and America plummets. Media out of control, yet some people trust them. Even now.

Weren’t they having a massive pool party in Wuhan the other day while our government peddles this lie of more deadly variants of the virus that somehow can be treated by the same vaccine made of the original less deadly virus. Some people will believe any rubbish they are told.
