PSG ready to meet Tottenham’s conditions for the signature of unsettled star

By Bruce Grove -

Serge Aurier is very close to a return to PSG, Football insider reports.

The Ivorian joined Tottenham from the French side in 2017 and has remained an important member of the Lilywhites’ squad.

However, he is error-prone and has never really enjoyed overwhelming support from the club’s fans.

His current deal runs out after next season and Spurs have agreed to sell him back to the French giants.

The report says he has agreed on personal terms with Mauricio Pochettino’s side and the former French champions are also prepared to meet Tottenham’s terms to get the deal sorted.

Spurs apparently negotiated this transfer before the arrival of Fabio Paratici is made official and the report says even the opinion of their next manager will not stop him from making the move.

The Lilywhites signed Matt Doherty from Wolves last summer and they have also used Japhet Tanganga in the right-back spot, so they would feel they have enough cover for that position.

Aurier has been on the radar of PSG for some time now and even though he could be frustrating to watch, it seems Poch is confident that he can get better performances from him.

I’m sorry I can’t get on board with the love-fest below. This bloke is a clown, made Bonzo’s brain farts look positively genius-like. Positionally inept, constantly giving away stupid fouls at stupid times and – what was it, 3 foul throws in one game for a professional??? seriously!

He cost us so many points over the years, what is criminal is that he wasn’t binned sooner.

Yes he had his ups & downs as a Spurs player but let’s be honest about this Aurier was our best right back..my problem is that we have sold our best 2 right backs in the last 5 years this will be our 3rd we are not a club going forward it’s a dam shame.

Another player where it just doesn’t work out for. I wish him well & have no doubt he’ll be a great player for his next team. Now, when are the bids for Dele going to start coming in …. if they never do, we can assume that he is as difficult to manage/a troublemaker as the rumours tell us.

Rather than talk about his time at spurs to be fair to the guy I would rather talk about why he was bought in the first case. Not my favourite player at all but I accept he had lots going on with him. Another mistake by levy.

I liked his attitude, throw ins and penalty giveaways not so much. But not convinced we’ll get anyone better. Wish him well.

Completely agreed, and I think it’s important for fans to remember. I recall he played for Spurs <48 hours after the death of his brother which is quite something. Professional, committed and gave us ‘stand up and applaud’ and ‘head in hands’ moments in equal measure. Wish him well.

I wish him well. Had some terrible personal issues with his brother passing away but remained very professional and committed for us. I was very critical of him when he first joined but he had some excellent games for us latterly
