Pochettino Still Loves The Club: What The Heck Is Wrong With That? [opinion]

By Joe Fish -

Mauricio Pochettino caused a stir last night when he told BT Sport of his dreams to manage Tottenham again, and finally, bring us a trophy.

My gaffer Harry is sick of Poch’s fawning towards Spurs, and our fans towards him, going so far as to call him the ‘Argentine David Brent’.

But I can’t comprehend the anger directed towards Poch at all. I understand why some supporters wanted him out as manager, but I don’t see the need for anybody to be so deeply offended by his love of the club.

Isn’t that what every fan wants from their manager? Isn’t that why so many half-wits are desperate for former players to take the hot seat one day? Because they love and understand the club as much as they do?

Would Harry Kane be treated with the same contempt if he were to leave this summer? He’d have won the same amount of trophies as Poch did.

Poch is one of us; anybody who has watched his BT Sport interview can see that. He may not be Tottenham by birth, but he can still call the club home.

And there is no place like home. What is wrong with Poch admitting that?

‘You’ meaning people that do in general, it was a general point but you can take it that way if you like but that’s what I meant.

“ Until that’s bettered you can slag Poch off all you like,”

🤔

Not saying you were slagging him off, I’m just staggered by these people that take the very few faults he had (who doesn’t have any?) and amplify them to somehow make Jose look like some kind of necessary change, one that was imperative.

This is against the backdrop of Levy and ENIC’s usual antics and woefully inadequate net spend and wage structure.

We are now seeing that whoever the manager is, the team needs a rebuild because of the financial neglect of it over the last three seasons.

I just see hanging Poch out to dry and questioning even his choice of socks many months after he left the club as only an attempt to make Jose look more a more credible choice.

Jose has to prove he still has it, nothing more and nothing less…

I wasn’t saying you were slagging him off, that was for the small number of ****s that do.

They just ignore the budget etc, an inconvenient truth obviously…

I’m not slagging him off. He, just like all his predecessors goes away winning the same. Nothing. Yes we had some fantastic moments. Life goes on he’s yesterday’s chip paper.

Let’s see what he achieves in any new role he takes wherever it may be.

I can’t think of another manager that could have achieved what he did on Levy’s paltry budget.

7th highest wage bill & 17th highest transfer spend = Top 4 & CL Final place.

Until that’s bettered you can slag Poch off all you like, but at the end of the day actions speak louder that words in life. Jose winning stuff with Spurs is only a theory and until he does will remain so.

Same goes for ENIC and the stadium hype, show us the gold at the end of this endless rainbow chasing. Right now it’s looking like one massive crock of $hit and lies…

ENIC OUT.

Yes he loves the club, he’s hardly going to say otherwise despite the owners. The CL final and top 4 positions are the highlight of his managerial career to date with a club or moreover a clubs fans who welcomed him into their hearts.

However….

Let’s not forget he was complicit in those empty transfer windows. Some of his decision making was baffling at times as was his philosophy that he tells us he wants to complete.

It wasn’t working. You can’t look back and hope that one day you’ll return. You won’t. Your time was then not now not in the future. At Spurs at least.

Jose has such magical powers that after being within a point of 4th after his first five games we have now slumped to 9th and any notion of attractive play has gone out the window.

But of course that’s everyone’s fault other than Jose and Levy’s who I might remind everyone are actually those now in charge of the situation.

Blaming Poch for everything wrong with the current team, given the kudos Jose gets in some quarters isn’t rational. It’s merely buck passing of the lowest order, Jose has it all to do.

Impress us Jose, ‘you da man’… supposedly. 😂

ENIC OUT.

So poch is a winker for loving the club, yet Jose can do whatever cis he can fry eggs and win things for them lot??? 🤮🤮🤮
