“Pathetic” “First Out The Door” These Fans Finally Lose Patience With FA Cup No-Show

By Joe Fish -

Erik Lamela is injured again. And in other news, water is wet.

Tottenham confirmed via the official Twitter page that the Argentine missed last night’s FA Cup win over Southampton with a groin injury.

Already without Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn, and keen to rest Dele Alli’s ankle after it was nearly obliterated by Raheem Sterling, Jose Mourinho would likely have handed the attacking midfielder just his fourth start since he returned from his last layoff, all of three minutes ago*.

*Lamela was injured on October 22nd and returned on December 28th.

Ankle, hip, back, hamstring, hip again, groin…it is always something with the 27-year-old who has missed at least 118 games through injury since joining Tottenham from Roma in 2013, according to transfermarkt.com.

And the fact that his latest sicknote comes at a time when we need every attacking option we can get has seen these Spurs fans finally lose patience.

Be interesting to see Lame La’s wage total for the weeks he wasn’t fit to play, and the weeks he was.

Will the Argentinian Darren Anderton please stand up.. I feel for any sicknote. They can’t help what they are. Fragile china dolls in a tough game… I like coco as well its a shame.. Must be tough on him mentally, and heartbreaking.

Bit of a shame really, he’s been high profile in Argentina since he was a kid.
Possibly overworked at a young age, trust us to reap the benefits!! 😂

N’Dombele is fast catching Lamela up and he’s only been at the club 6 months. I’d say he’s more a worry than Lamela.
