“We had to stop him” José Reveals That Lo Celso Was Desperate To Play Last Night [video]

By The Boy -

A game the Spurs were fortunate to win in many respects, but the old adage that “god loves a trier” rang true in North London last night. The boys really gave all that they could, and the gaffer was clearly quite moved by the effort, the sheer will that his team showed, in adverse conditions.

Hearts must have sunk across the fanbase – I know mine did – at the news that Giovani Lo Celso could not be risked as a preventative measure in respect of what the Evening Standard described as a thigh injury.

In his post match chat with the club’s man in the tunnel, José revealed that the player “had to be stopped” from playing. What a refreshing change all this must be after trying to coax a game out of the likes of Christian Eriksen.

He was upset.. But hes only 32 hes got years left in him… He just had a bad game i wouldnt crucify him for it…. The fact he was so upset just showed that he cared.. Noone wants to be subbed but it was a tactical decision more than him being terrible.. Noone was great…… Everyone reacts different, when Dele was subbed recently he punched the stands. Dont listen to the few idiots in the media who says hes done, hes not.

Just buck on another man I know who’s son is deeeep in spurs. Anyway. There’s a little project I’m doing in the community I need to raise some funds for. My man said to take him out for some jerk chicken and bring two spurs tops with me and he’ll get them signed. Start bidding. I’m starting the bidding at the price of the shirts. Harry. Can you you deal with this please. Any rich people on here?

Yeah it looked like a realisation that his Spurs days were numbered didn’t it. As first choice anyway. I hope he stays though as cover, and to pass on his experience.

What’s your take on Vert last night? His reaction to being taken off last night was surprising. Even the gaffers pat on the back was a little cold. Time could be up for Super Jan.
