Paratici tipped to earn Tottenham money by offloading two stars soon

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s search for a new manager has been the dominant story at the club in the current transfer window.

They would never have expected that it would be this tough to name a replacement for Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese was fired in April and their search for a replacement has been filled with near misses all summer.

While they wait to appoint a new head coach, they have made Fabio Paratici their latest sporting director and the Italian administrator is set to work on signing and selling players.

His tenure officially starts next week, but he has already started identifying players for the club.

Football London says he is expected to help them make some money by offloading some of their current squad members.

The report names two stars who should leave the club in this transfer window as soon as Paratici’s tenure starts.

The report says Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela may have played their last games for the club and he is expected to find new homes for them.

Aurier has interest from the likes of PSG and AC Milan while Italian clubs want to take Lamela back to Serie A.

Selling these players will add good money to Spurs’ transfer budget which they should then splash on new players.

Could you offer some names as replacements for almost half the squad , this will probably take three seasons. I am hoping they expel Sissoko, Sanchez, Dier, Lamela and Winks in this window, but it’s highly unlikely the way Levy works.

As somebody else said most decent players if they hadn’t won a regular first team place after eight years would have moved.

Lamela is a hard worker and always gives 110%. However he doesn’t know when to release the ball and also gets fits of red mist running around hacking everyone down.

Would have been quicker to name the ones to keep! I agree though we do need a good clear out.

He’s not supposed to clock on until July 1st. Hope he hands in an overtime request to Levy.

That should make us all of two bob, need to sell a few more than that, let me help you. Sissoko, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez, Winks, Lamela, Aurier, Davies, Bergwijn and Dele, they can all go as far as I’m concerned, none of them are good enough. And that is the problem you’ll face, them being not good enough will make them hard to sell. Good luck with that. ENIC, Levy and Lewis OUT !!

How will that be achieved if they choose not to go?

Lamela a player that I always felt under achieved at Spurs, could never criticise his efforts, but always held the ball too long and let things close up around him

Italy as suggested will be good for him IMO

I don’t believe PSG are interested in Aurier maybe Italy would suit him and Lamela.

Can’t see the sale of either generating significant funds. Frees up space on the wage bill and in the treatment room though.

Jose was sacked the day the European Super League was announced. Levy’s plan was based on this taking place and all the finance and kudos this would bring. He had no fall-back position and so we have been wandering round in the wilderness ever since.
