‘Never easy’ – Antonio Conte warns not to overestimate Burnley ahead of clash

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur hopes to carry the momentum they generated following their big win over Manchester City. The north London club is heading to Turf Moor for their matchup against Burnley to maintain their ground in the top-four race.

Spurs are heading into the matchup, the heavy favorites against a Burnley side that is in the relegation battle. Burnley are coming off getting points in three of their last four games, so manager Antonio Conte stated that this won’t be an easy opponent.

“My point of view maybe it’s the worst period to play against them because in the last period they have had fantastic results and played a good game. They drew with Manchester United and away at Arsenal, and they beat Brighton 3-0,” Conte said, per Football.London.

“They lost only 1-0 against Liverpool, but the game was in the balance. For sure, for us, they will be a really tough team; we have to know this. It’s never easy to play against Burnley, and they have a good manager that is showing in these years that his managing is very, very good, and maybe he could deserve something more.”

Tottenham finds itself six points out of fourth place but has three games in hand. However, they can1’t afford another week where they drop points to clubs below them in the Premier League table.

Spurs are also taking on Leeds United this weekend, so they’ll have two matches against opponents way below them in the standings. These next couple of games will determine if the win versus Manchester City was a one-off or the starting point for them to climb up the table.

With the up and down results we’ve suffered over recent seasons including in this, I doubt the players will be over confident in any game we play.

A classic opportunity presents itself for another “Spursey” moment. If we fail to build on the match against City then I see no way in which we will get a CL spot and that will make it very difficult for us to attract the quality of players we need in the summer, That in turn will make it likely Conte will leave in the summer.
