Mourinho tells Dele Alli that his omission just shows how it is at big clubs

By Bruce Grove -

Jose Mourinho has sent a message to Dele Alli after he left the Englishman out of the team that faced Burnley.

This has been a difficult start to the season for Alli who had previously been considered one of the untouchables in Tottenham’s squad.

The Englishman has struggled for form in the past year and in his quest to win a trophy for Tottenham, Mourinho has sidelined the underperforming former MK Dons man.

The attacking midfielder has sat on the sidelines and watched as the likes of Tanguy Ndombele have been in fine form for the team.

Mourinho admitted that he didn’t feel happy to leave out members of his team, but that is how life is at a big team.

He has managed at Manchester United, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid among other teams and he claims that it is exactly how it is at the top teams and players have to be ready for their chance.

Mourinho said, as quoted by the Mail: ‘I feel very bad we did (leave out Alli). I feel even sad every time I have to write a list of players selected for a game. It’s not just about Dele.

‘If the players understand that on Thursday we have another match and that some people that didn’t play here, they are going to play on Thursday and vice-versa.

‘This is the life of a big club. This is the life that I know from my time at Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea. The boys have to be ready.’

I will start to worry if he doesn’t get a game soon as we should use the whole squad if possible keeping our options open and players match fit.
