Teenage star has reportedly impressed Jose Mourinho in training

By Bruce Grove -

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Jack Clarke has been in fine form in Tottenham training and the 19-year-old has impressed Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff.

Clarke was signed from Leeds United last summer and he spent both halves of last season out on loan at Elland Road and at QPR.

He didn’t see much action from those loan spells and the club decided against allowing him to leave on loan again this season.

Their preference has been for him to remain in the team and learn from the likes of Harry Kane and Gareth Bale in training.

Gold is now reporting that the teenager is doing just that and that he has impressed the club’s manager.

He claimed that he remains one of the fittest players in the team at the moment and Mourinho is happy to see him follow instructions at the club.

He said on his YouTube channel: “[He] made his debut, which is great for him after more than a year since he joined the club – obviously he had those loan spells at Leeds and QPR that didn’t really work for him. As I’ve been told, and I think I’ve said before, Spurs staff and Mourinho have been delighted with what he’s doing in training. Apparently, he’s one of the fittest players at Tottenham on the training ground and he’s doing everything.

“Very clever kid, very intelligent – only 19. And he’s doing a lot of the stuff they’re asking for him.”
