Mourinho lands a new job, days after getting sacked by Spurs

By Bruce Grove -

Just days after being sacked by Tottenham, Jose Mourinho has landed a new job and says he misses football already.

The Portuguese manager was fired by Spurs days before their Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

His team had made a fine start to this campaign, but they have struggled since the turn of the year and it cost him his job.

He will be compensated for getting sacked before the expiry of his deal and he could have chosen to go on a sabbatical or maybe spend some time on the beach, but Mourinho is back in football almost immediately.

The former Chelsea boss has now joined TalkSPORT as a pundit.

The Radio Station had teased that they would make a surprising announcement yesterday and revealed that he would be one of their pundits earlier today.

In a clip posted to the broadcaster’s Twitter page, Mourinho said: ‘I am totally absorbed by football. I just love to work. In this moment, I am not working for a week and I am missing it already.’

He will take up punditry duties for the Euros later in the year and announced the latest development by saying: ‘Hello to everyone at talkSPORT, this is Jose Mourinho. Delighted to say I will be joining the talkSPORT team for the Euros this summer. I will be joining the likes of Laura Woods, Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil to give my views on all of the action.

‘Good luck to England, good luck to Scotland and of course good luck to Portugal.’
